Twister II: Winds Of Change

Summary:

A sequel to Twister. Picks up where the film left off, then is set 22 years after the events of the first film, the story follows Jenna Harding, Bill and Jo's daughter, who is following in her parents footsteps. Her ultimate dream is to venture inside a tornado to achieve scientific measurements. Can they achieve the ground breaking data that they've been searching for? This is also a prequel to Twisters, to tie the two films together.

Notes:

This was a childhood dream of mine to get this written and posted. This is my vision for what I think a Twister II would be like. Trying not to give this Speed 2 treatment so I hope that this will be good. I'm so happy to share this story with ya'll. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Prologue: May 1996

Summary:

This prologue takes place right where the movie left off. I also made it a little sad. I'm so sorry lol.

Chapter Text

It was a wonderful evening for Jo, Bill, and their entire team. They had successfully deployed Dorothy IV into the monster wedge tornado, and had so much data that would need to be processed. The team wasn't only excited for the successful deployment of Dorothy. They were overjoyed of the reconciliation between Jo and Bill. The team felt like a family again. Bill was finally back.

After sharing a passionate kiss with each other, Bill and Jo decided to finally stand up. Dusty luckily had a couple of towels stowed away in the Barn Burner, so he handed a towel to Bill and Jo.

"Thanks Dusty." They told him. Dusty smiled at his friends. "Don't mention it. Dude, I still can't believe it!" He told them. He then takes off to meet up with the rest of the gang, who was preoccupied with surveying the damage, which appeared to be F5 damage.

Jo and Bill take a peek at the skyline. The sun was still setting. They knew that soon it would be dark. "Come on, let's saddle the gang up." Bill told Jo. Jo nodded, and then followed her husband.

The team finally got around, and Jo and Bill decided to ride in the back of the barn burner along with Rabbit, Sanders, Dusty, and Mose. Preacher was driving the bus. Beltzer and Haynes followed behind the barn burner, with Joey and Laurence following behind them. The team eventually arrives at a Super 8 motel for the night. A diner that looked to be from the 1950s was located nearby.

It was a long day that paid off. The team was famished, and everyone decided to celebrate by having some good food and some drinks. Bill and Jo were the only ones who weren't headed towards the diner. Instead, her and Bill were admiring the sunset. They could see the beautiful hues of yellow, orange, and pink. "Wow, Bill! This sunset is gorgeous!" She exclaims. Bill glances at his wife, and then peers up at the skyline. He then pulls Jo close to him, gazing into her deep brown eyes. "Not as gorgeous as you are." He tells her, flirtatiously. Jo blushes, and then grins at him.

Beltzer and Haynes were walking past them. The couple was holding hands. Haynes looks back at Bill and Jo, and Beltzer stops in his tracks. "Hey, are you guys coming?" She asked her friends. Beltzer chimed in, "We're gonna celebrate with some good food and some drinks." Bill and Jo grin at them and Jo tells her friends, "You know what, you guys go right ahead." Bill nods. "We'll catch up with you guys later." He adds. Beltzer and Haynes shrug, but continue on ahead towards the diner.

Jo and Bill stroll the opposite direction away from the diner. The couple makes their way towards the Barn Burner. They both sit down, holding each other. Jo was enjoying Bill's company, and she was relieved that he had come back to not only her, but their team. "Bill?" Jo asked. Bill turns to face Jo. He wants her to know that he's listening to her. "What's up?" He answered her. There was a moment of silence between the two of them for a few moments, and then she spoke up. "I want to work on our marriage." She confesses. Before her husband could even answer her, she continues. "I'm sorry that I haven't been the best wife to you."

Bill holds her even tighter, and he then places a kiss upon her forehead. "Me too, Jo. I'm sorry that I haven't been the greatest husband to you, either." He remarks. Jo places a kiss to his cheek. "I'm thinking that maybe couples therapy would help us." She tells him. There's silence for a moment before she asks, "You don't suppose that Melissa knows anyone, do you?" Bill shakes his head and responds, "Melissa broke up with me, Jo. I'm the last person that she would want to talk to. I doubt she would give me that info." Jo nods at him, and remarks, "Oh." She then sighs, "Maybe it's time for me to address things in therapy, too..."

Bill nods at her replies, and tells her, "I think it would be helpful, yes." Hearing his response, Jo places her hand over Bill's, and she smiles at him warmly. "Come on, let's celebrate with everyone and get something to eat." She says to him, as she grabs his hands and pulls him upwards. "Sounds like a plan to me." He answers. The two then make their way towards the diner.

In the Oklahoma countryside a dark blue 1994 Chevy Silverado 2500 pickup truck was driving down the road. A man with dirty blonde hair, emerald colored eyes, and who also appeared to be in his mid 30s was driving towards a motel for the night. He appeared to be excited.

"That was one of the best tornadoes that I have ever witnessed in my entire life! I'll have to call Jo and Bill and ask them about their experience." He tells himself. Suddenly, his phone began to ring, which had caught him off guard. He reaches for his phone, and answers it. He's juggling both the phone and driving, trying to focus on the road ahead of him.

"Hello? Who is this?" He answered. A female voice could be heard on the other side of the line. "Hi is this Jessie?" The voice asked. Jessie answered the woman. "Yes, this is. Who are you?" He questioned.

"I'm Patty. I'm a member of your brother, Jonas's team." She uttered. Jessie listens attentively to Patty. He was puzzled that a member of his brother's team would be calling him, and not his brother himself. "What's this all about?" He asked her. Patty sighed as she admitted to him, "It's about your brother, Jonas." Jessie could feel a painful lump forming in his throat. This was already not sounding good to him. Something had to have been going on, and it had to have been something serious.

"What about him? Is he alright?" He asked Patty. The concern was apparent in his voice. Patty sighs before answering him. She absolutely hated having to break the horrendous news to him. "I'm so sorry... But your brother and his colleague, Eddie, have passed away. I figured it was only right to tell you."

Jessie could feel his heart break into a million pieces. His chest began to feel heavy, and he felt like someone had hit him with a bag full of bricks. His emerald green eyes grew wide. He couldn't fucking believe this. He didn't want to believe this. This had to of have been some kind of cruel joke. Jessie caught his breath. It hurt to breathe. "You're joking, right? Please tell me that this isn't true!" He plead, trying to hold back tears. Patty sighed once more, then she spoke, "I'm sorry, Jessie. I wish this wasn't true, but it is. They're gone. I'm very sorry for your loss."

Jessie could feel the tears and his eyes began to water. "How the hell could this have happened?" He choked out. It was becoming more difficult to conceal his anguish and sorrow. Patty went ahead and explained the situation to him. "They were about to place D.O.T.3, and the tornado changed course. They didn't have time to get away..."

Jessie felt like he could barely keep his composure at this point. "Thanks for letting me know." He remarks, hanging up on Patty. He jerks his truck over onto the side of the road, shutting off the engine. He was crushed. In that moment he let himself go and began to sob. His brother was gone... He still couldn't believe it. He feels himself flood with rage and pain. "NOOOO! GOD DAMMIT!" He curses. Jessie knew that Jo and Bill were also on the same tornado. They had talked the night before, before the team was going to go after this storm.

He could feel the thoughts race around in his brain. Why didn't they stop him? He thought to himself. If they had stopped them maybe his brother and Eddie would still be alive. He continued to think to himself. Jessie slammed his hand against the dashboard. "They're gonna pay for this! I will get back at them somehow!" He tells himself.

....THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT....

Everyone had settled into their motel rooms for the night. They had a long day ahead of them tomorrow, and they were yearning to catch up on some much needed rest, after going after tornadoes for the past forty eight hours. Jo and Bill were peacefully asleep, snuggling each other. It wouldn't be very peaceful for long, as Jo started to toss and turn in her sleep. What was a nice dream for her, had began to transform into a nightmare.

June 1969... Jo was 5 years old and was taking shelter with her mom and dad in the family's storm shelter in the back yard. It was the middle of the night, and Gary England was on the news warning the town of Kingfisher that there was a tornado warning. Her father had instructed her mother to hang onto her. Toby, the family dog was also with them. Her father could sense that the latch on the cellar door wasn't going to hold. He hung onto the door, trying his hardest to keep it closed. He held on with all of his might. Jo had managed to get out of her mother's grasp, and she curiously gets closer to her father. She was mesmerized by the lightning outside.

Her father was finding it more challenging to keep the cellar door closed. The winds were just too strong. He sensed this, as he looked back at his wife and daughter. Tears were forming in his eyes. "I CAN'T HOLD IT ANY LONGER! JESUS, OH GOD! I CAN'T HOLD IT ANY LONGER!" He shouts. Jo continues to observe her father. She watches in horror as the cellar door gets sucked up into the vortex, taking her father along with it. She could hear her father scream. Jo freaks out and begins to run towards where the door once was. Tears filled her eyes as she screamed, "NOOOOO! DADDDYYY! DADDDYYY!"

Jo's mother quickly grabs her and holds her tightly. She didn't want to lose her daughter, too. Tears were welling up in her eyes, too. "Stay with me, Jo! Stay with me! NOOOOOO!" She pled. Mr. Thornton was gone forever...

Jo's nightmare then begins to shift to the previous afternoon.

May 11th, 1996... Her and Bill were keeping an eye on the wedge tornado's track. They could hear Jonas and Eddie announce that they were planning to intercept the twister to place D.O.T.3. Jo knew about their failures with deploying Dorothy, and she had wanted to warn Jonas and Eddie. She reached for the CB radio and asked, "Jonas, this is Jo. Can you hear me?" There was silence for a moment until Jonas radioed her back, brushing her off. "Not now, Harding." He told her sharply. Jo rolled her eyes, and warned him, "Jonas, listen to me. The pack is too light. The twister will toss it before it reaches the core, you have to anchor it!"

"Oh, sharing valuable information, Jo. I'll consider that, thank you." He replied. She could hear the smugness in his tone, which only irritated her. "Jonas, listen to me! Don't be a..." She pleads, before being cut off by Bill. Jo didn't have a good feeling about any of this. Bill grabs the CB radio from her, and gives it a shot at attempting to warn Jonas and Eddie. "Jonas, what's your position?" He asks. They could hear Jonas respond smugly, "Howdy, Bill. We're heading northeast, running parallel and about to pull ahead of it on the left, why?"

Bill observes the tornadoes path, and replies, "Hang back a minute. We've got a pretty good view from back here. She could shift her track, and if she does, she's gonna come right at you. Do you copy?" There's silence for a few moments, and then he warns Jonas again. "Jonas, listen to me! This is not a game!" He could hear Jonas's annoyed tone over the CB. "Get off this frequency, Bill!" They don't hear anymore from Jonas after that. "She's shifting!" Jo remarks. Jo and Bill watch as the behemoth tornado began to shift it's course, just like Bill had predicted.

Bill proceeded to warn Jonas and Eddie one last time, but it was already too late. Shortly after his final warning, they witnessed debris impaling the black Chevy Suburban. They watched in horror as the vehicle was lofted into the air. It circled around the twister a couple of times before slamming into the ground. They could observe it exploding into a giant ball of fire and flames. Jonas and Eddie were no more...

The voices of her father and Jonas kept on repeating over and over in her mind. Images of her father's death and Jonas and Eddie's death kept on repeating, as well. Jo continued to toss and turn.

"I CAN'T HOLD IT ANY LONGER!"

"Get off of this frequency, Bill!"

Bill could sense Jo's distress, as her tossing and turning had gotten more rapid, causing him to awaken. He shook his wife, hoping to awaken her. "Jo!" He called. No such luck. He continued to call her name.

"Hey, Jo!"

"Jo!"

"Wake up!"

Jo shot up from her pillow. She gasps, feeling her breathing becoming rapid. Her heart felt like it was beating a million miles per hour. She then placed her palm upon her forehead. Bill flicks the lamp on, and then moves over to hold her in his arms. "Are you alright, Jo?" He asks her, with concern apparent in his tone.

Jo tries to catch her breath. Vulnerability was a scary thing for her, but she was going to try. She looks up at her husband. "I'm fine now. I just had a nightmare, that's all..." She reassures him. Bill embraces her tightly. Jo was receptive to this. He looks at her, with concern apparent on his face. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asks her. Jo pauses for a moment, she knew it was a start. She sighs. "I saw my father... And how he tried to protect me and my mom, on that terrible night when I saw the F5... Then I saw Jonas and Eddie... and how we tried to save them..."

Tears began to form in Jo's deep brown eyes. Bill reaches over to the night stand and hands his wife some tissues. She grabbed a few, and began to wipe her tears. Bill doesn't speak. He was present and continued to listen to Jo. "Maybe if it were just me who warned them... Maybe they would still be alive..." She added. Bill had to pause for a moment before he spoke. He realized that Jo was only expressing her grief, and that she wasn't trying to attack him in any way.

Bill looked at his wife with sorrow. "As tragic as it is, I don't think it would've mattered, Jo. It's unfortunate what happened to Jonas and Eddie, but Jonas was an arrogant slimeball who was so damn stubborn. He was obsessed with beating me at something." He explained. He stopped for a moment before adding, "It was his pride and foolishness that got him and Eddie killed... I wish things were different Jo, but the truth is, we did what we could. They just refused to listen."

Jo buried her head into Bill's chest, allowing herself to sob. Bill held her close, and was trying his best to comfort his wife. "Jessie is going to be so heartbroken..." She cried. Bill ran his fingers through her blonde hair. "It's alright, Jo. I'm here for you. We will make it through this. We have each other, and we've got our friends." He remarked.

Jo began to wipe the tears from her eyes. She then gazed into his deep blue eyes. "You're right, Bill. Dorothy flew, and we got all of this data that we've got to process. We actually did it. I can't believe it." She tells him. Bill grins at her, and then he flicks off the switch on the lamp. The room is filled with darkness. They lay back down and Bill wraps his arms around her. Jo snuggles into his chest. "Let's get some rest. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." He whispers. Jo and Bill shut their eyes, and drifted back off to sleep.

.....MAY 12TH, 1996.... AFTERNOON....

It was a beautiful sunny day in Norman, Oklahoma. It was a typical hot and humid summer day. NSSL was predicting possible thunderstorms later in the afternoon, but nothing too severe. Just your average summer thunderstorm. Jessie's dark blue Chevy Silverado pulls up into the drive way in front of a lovely brick home in a cozy subdivision. Jessie hops out of the truck, and makes his way towards the front door. He loathed having to do this, but in his heart, he knew that it needed to be done. He takes a deep breath, before knocking on the door. He waits outside for a few moments until he sees a friendly face peering right at him.

Jessie tried to conceal his sorrow. A woman with black hair and deep blue eyes greets him. "Jessie! Hi! It's nice to see you! I wasn't expecting to see you in the neighborhood today." She tells him. She pauses, and observes the expression on his face. Something didn't add up. "Can I come in?" Jessie asks her matter-of-factly. The woman nods, and he enters the home. It was a beautiful home.

The two enter the living room, and two little boys were engaging in a pillow fight battle. One of the boys appeared to be younger. 3 years old. He had black hair and deep blue eyes. The other boy appeared to be 5 years old, with brown eyes and dark brown hair. The 3 year old boy put down the pillow. The pillow fight was now over as he raced over to embrace Jessie. He has a huge smile upon his face. "Uncle Jessie!" He exclaims.

Jessie temporarily forgets about his sorrow as he ruffles his nephew's hair. He smiles warmly at him, saying, "It's nice to see you, Scott." Scott's mom grins warmly at them, but then she realized that if Jessie was over it must've been because of something important. He generally didn't come over to visit. "Scott, Connor, why don't you boys play in the backyard. I'll check in on you boys in a little bit." She orders them.

Connor nods his head, and answers her. "Yes, Ma'am. Come on Scott, I'll race ya!" He tells his friend. Scott grins at Connor, and they took off. Racing each other towards the glass sliding door near the back of the house. Jessie and Scott's mother watch the boys exit through the back door. She then faces Jessie. "What brings you here today?" She questions him. Jessie strolls towards the kitchen. Scott's mom grabs some lemonade out of the fridge and proceeds to pour them both a glass. She hands it to Jessie, and he thanks her. He didn't really feel thirsty, but it was a sweet gesture. Jessie takes a sip of his lemonade and then confesses, "Sasha, it's about Jonas..."

Sasha freezes. This didn't sound good at all. In fact, this didn't sound normal. Something wasn't right. Even though her and Jonas weren't in a committed relationship, she loved him and they had Scott together. She began to grow worried. He was supposed to stop by last night to pick up Scott for the weekend, but he never showed up. She figured that maybe something came up at work, but it was unusual that he didn't give a heads up like he usually did, but she chalked it up to maybe he was tired.

"What happened? Is he alright?" She asked Jessie. Jessie only bowed his head, sadness imminent upon his face. He sighs, trying to hold back his tears. "Sasha, I'm so sorry... He and Eddie died in a tornado yesterday afternoon... I just found out yesterday evening." He admitted.

Sasha's deep blue eyes grew wide, and she felt like a fright train had slammed into her, full force. She couldn't believe it, and didn't want to believe it. Surely he had to be joking, right? "Jessie, please tell me it isn't true! How the hell could this happened?" She questions. Jessie really wished that this wasn't fact, but it was, and he knew that he had to tell her what had happened. "They were about to deploy D.O.T.3, but before they had even got the chance to, the tornado shifted and they didn't have enough time to escape. I'm sorry..."

Sasha could feel her heart break in that moment. Her chest ached, and she broke into tears. The man that she had loved was dead and now her son was fatherless... Jessie embraced her, allowing himself to sob as well. The two grieved for a few minutes, before Jessie pulled apart from her. "You've got to tell Scott somehow. He deserves to know. If not now, when he's older. I'd advise telling him now, since it's going to be easier to do." He advises her.

Sasha knew that Jessie was correct. She also felt for Connor. His father was gone too. She shrugs her shoulders. "You're right... I suppose I better get Connor's mother on the phone and let her know." She tells him, adding, "Why don't you go and check on the boys while I go and do that?"

Jessie nods at her, then he makes his way towards the sliding glass door, where he watches his nephew and Connor hopping on the trampoline, without a care in the world. They looked so happy... He knew that what they were about to find out would change their lives forever. He opens the door, and steps outside. He glances at the Oklahoma skies. What was once blue skies and sunshine was gloomy, ash grey clouds. The air felt humid and sticky. It was going to rain soon, he could just feel it.

Jessie sat with his thoughts. Scott looked so much like Jonas, and Connor reminded him of Eddie. He didn't know Eddie too well, but he thought he seemed to be like a nice guy, and he didn't deserve to die. Jonas didn't deserve to die either. He wished that he could bring his brother and Eddie back, but he knew it was impossible. They were gone, and he had to accept that.

Sasha stood in the kitchen, waiting for the phone to be picked up. It wasn't long before she could hear Connor's mother on the other side of the line. "Ashley, we need to talk. It's about Eddie..." She told her friend. "I'll be right over." Ashley answered. She hung up the phone, and waited for Ashley to arrive. She decided to go and check on the boys. She peered out the window and saw Jessie keeping an eye on them. She loathed having them find out the news. Her thoughts were cut short by knocking at the front door. She rushed over to answer the front door. A woman with brown eyes and ginger hair stood outside. "Ashley, come on in." Sasha tells her. The two women take a seat upon the couch.

"Is my husband okay? He never called me last night like he promised me that he would..." Ashley asked. Sasha glances at her friend, and then sighs. "Ash, I have some... bad news..." She confessed. Ashley froze, and her eyes grew big. This didn't sound great. "Eddie's dead... I'm so sorry..." Sasha remarked. Ashley was trying to take the horrendous news in. Her heart broke and she couldn't keep it together. She began to sob. "No! Not my Eddie!" She cried. Sasha embraced her friend, and she herself began to to tear up. "I lost Jonas, too. He died alongside Eddie..." She admitted. Ashley began to wipe the tears from her eyes. "I'm so sorry that you lost Jonas, too. I know how much you loved him." She replies. Sasha and Ashley break away from their embrace and glance at the sliding glass door.

"We've got to tell them... As much as it pains us to..." Sasha advises Ashley. Ashley nods and answers, "Kiara's at a friend's house. I'll have to tell her when she's home, but I'll tell Conner right away."

Sasha opens the glass sliding door, and witnesses Jessie motioning for the boys to come inside. The rain was starting to fall, and they could hear the thunder rumbling. Scott and Connor race inside, and meet up with everyone near the couch. "Connor, I have something that I have to tell you." Ashley tells her son. "Scottie, come here. I need to talk to you." Sasha tells her son. Jessie decided to stand nearby. Connor sat next to his mother, while Scott climbs up on his mother's lap. Ashley signals for Sasha to start first. Scott sees the tears in his mother's eyes. He was confused to why she was crying. "Mommy, what's wrong?" He asks his mother. Sasha knew that she needed to stay strong for her son. "Was I bad?" He continues.

Sasha wipes away her tears, and then places a kiss upon his forehead. "No sweetheart. You didn't do anything wrong. It's about your father..." She tells him. Scott got excited. Maybe his Dad was going to come and pick him up? "Is daddy coming?" He asks his mother. Sasha was heartbroken at seeing her son's happy go lucky expression. She knew that her son was too young to understand. Scott was used to being picked up every other weekend, and this weekend Jonas was supposed to have him...

Sasha decides to break the terrible news to her son. "Scott, I'm so sorry... but daddy's not coming..." She admits. Scott was puzzled. "What? Why?" He questioned, before pouting. Sasha holds her son closely. "I know, I'm so sorry, baby... but daddy's gone. He's never coming back." She confessed. Sasha could observe tears forming in Scott's eyes. He begins to cry. "Why mommy?"

She continues to hold him, trying to soothe him. "Daddy went to heaven. There was an accident..." Before Sasha could finish her sentence, Scott wiped the tears from his eyes. "We got to fix him!" He looked over at his uncle Jessie. "We got to bring him back!"

It broke Jessie's heart to hear his nephew ask him that. "I'm afraid not. I'm sorry, Scott. It's not possible." Scott's deep blue eyes grew wide, and he cried, "NOOOO! DADDYYY!" He pushed himself out of his mother's lap, and raced towards his bedroom, slamming his door.

Sasha glances over at Jessie. Jessie sighs. "I'll go and talk to him." He made his way over towards Scott's room, while Ashley talked to Connor.

This was a lot for Ashley to handle, and she couldn't keep her composure any longer. Connor senses his mother's distress. "Mom, why are you crying?" He asks her. He embraced his mother. Ashley held her son tightly. "Connor, there's something that I need to tell you." She voiced. Connor could tell by the sorrow in his mother's tone that this wasn't good news. "It's about dad, isn't it?" He questions. Ashley sighed. "I'm afraid so. I'm so sorry, honey."

Jessie opened up Scott's door, seeing him staring at unfinished train tracks on his floor. He hears Scott sob. "Hey little dude." Jessie utters. Scott looks up at his uncle. "He was going to..." He could only choke out fragments of speech. "Help me with trains!" He adds. Jessie leans down, and Scott runs into his arms. Jessie hugs his nephew. "I know, but listen... Your father is always with you. He's in your heart, Scott." He explains, pointing at his nephew's heart. Scott moved his hand over his chest to feel his heart. "He's watching over you, I know it." Jessie continued. Scott continued to sob, and Jessie continued to comfort him.

Ashley was still sitting with Connor on the couch when he asked his mother, "Is he coming home?" Ashley peers at her son, the sorrow apparent upon her face. "Connor, your dad is never coming back... He's gone. He went to heaven..." She admitted. Connor's brown eyes grew wide, and he instantly started crying. "NOOOOOOO!" He sobbed. Ashley held her son tightly, and sobbed along with him.

Chapter 2: Prologue: Good Company

Summary:

Part two of the prologue. I had to keep this part in where they went to go and visit Aunt Meg in the hospital. I had that as an idea in my head for my original version when I was a kid and I wanted to keep it. Also the last chapter was a little sad so I had to add a chapter was more fluffy and happier. I think it turned out okay.

Notes:

Also yes, I know that in real life pets wouldn't be allowed in the hospital but I had to keep this part in there I'm sorry lol. Plus this is fiction. ;)

Chapter Text

....MAY 12TH, 1996.... AFTERNOON...

Jo, Bill, and the rest of the team had decided to pay a visit to Aunt Meg in the hospital to go and check on her, as well as announce the wonderful news to her. Jo knew that the nearest hospital by Wakita was in Anthony, Kansas. It was a late start for her and her team. After they had all had lunch, they hit the road and made the a little over an hour long drive to the hospital. Dusty had drove the barn burner, and before they knew it, the three vehicles had finally pulled into the parking lot at the hospital.

Laurence was nervous about leaving Mose behind all alone in the bus, and he was thinking about just staying behind. "You guys uh, can go right ahead. I think I'll hang back here with Mose." He announced, scratching Mose behind his ears. The golden retriever was panting and enjoying the scratches. Bill looked back at him, "I'm sure it will be alright. Worst case, you can just come on back to the bus with him." He replied. Laurence thought about what Bill had told him for a few moments. "Okay, Come on boy! Let's go and visit Meg." He answered. Mose only barked in response. Laurence grabbed a dog collar and a leash, and put it on Mose. Bill smiled at Laurence and exited the bus. Him and Laurence caught up with the rest of the team.

Jo was already at the reception desk. The receptionist greeted her. "Hello! Who will you be visiting today and how many visitors?" She asked Jo. Jo responded, "I'm here to visit Meg Greene. She was brought here a couple of nights ago. There's nine of us, not including me." The receptionist gave Jo a puzzled expression, and then Jo informed her, "I'm her niece, and the others are like family to her." The receptionist nodded. Jo nearly forgot about Mose. "Oh, we have her dog, Mose, with us. Is it alright if we brought him with us?" She asked her. "I don't think it would be an issue. Please keep him on a collar and leash." She remarked. Jo signed herself in, and the others shortly followed.

The receptionist brought everyone back and lead Jo and the rest of the gang towards room 104. "Here you are. Enjoy your stay." She told them. "Thank you!" Jo answered. Jo opened the door, and her Aunt Meg was laying in the hospital bed watching reruns of Anne Of Green Gables. "Hi, Aunt Meg! I figured you'd like some company." Jo utters. Meg's face lights up when she not only sees her niece, but the entire team, her family, coming to visit her. Laurence lets go of Mose's leash, and he happily leaps upon the bed to greet Meg. "Mose, boy!" She exclaims. A big smile can be seen upon her face. This was making her day, for sure. "I wasn't expecting any visitors today. What a surprise!" She tells them.

Bill grinned at Meg, and then he explains, "It was Jo's idea. We figured we'd stop by and see how you were doing. We also had some news to tell you." Jo embraced Meg and added, "We've did it, Aunt Meg. Dorothy finally flew!" Meg gave Jo a kiss on her cheek, and answered, "I told you that you could do it. I believed that you could." Dusty chimed in, excitedly. "We made history, baby!" Aunt Meg chuckled at Dusty. "We had data coming out of our ears!" Sanders added. "It felt like it was Christmas time!" Beltzer exclaimed. Haynes then showed some concern. "How are you feeling, Meg?" She asked.

Meg shifted her body, and then answered, "I should be able to go home tonight. I'm still a little sore, but I'm healing up. That tornado really shook me up." She paused for a moment before adding, "The data that you guys collected will help a lot of people. I had no warning. The sirens went off, and then it hit. I lost nearly everything. I was thankful that you guys stopped and helped save me and Mose." Jo placed her hand upon Meg's shoulder. "Hey, that's what family is for. We all love you, Meg." Jo motioned for Bill to tell Meg the news. "Me and Jo also had something that we wanted to announce." He told Meg. Meg looked surprised, and then Bill and Jo announced, "We decided to call off the divorce. We want to fix our marriage."

Mose cuddled up towards Meg, and she stroked his fur. She grinned at Jo and Bill. "This is wonderful news! I was rooting for it." She then added, "You two were meant for each other." Bill and Jo look at each other affectionately. Rabbit decided to break some more news to Meg. "We were all talking last night, and we'd like to help you rebuild your house." Meg just couldn't believe it. This was the best news that she had heard all afternoon. "You guys didn't have to do that for me." She answered. The entire team smiled warmly at her. "Yo, Meg you have always been there for us. It's the least that we could do." Sanders replied.

"Thank you all, so much. It means a lot to me." Meg remarked. "It's no problem. You can stay with me and Bill at our apartment for awhile. We've got room for Mose too." Jo told her. Before any more words could be spoken, they could hear a knock on the door, and the doctor entered the room. He was surprised that there was a golden retriever in the room, but he didn't say anything about Mose being there. "Hello Meg. Your tests came back normal, and it looks like you're ready to go home. We'll get you ready to be discharged. Take it easy." He announced. He then left the room to go and have the discharge paperwork filed.

It wasn't long before a nurse entered the room to hand Meg her discharge paperwork. She was relieved that she'd finally be departing the hospital. Everyone prepared to get ready to leave. They had a long drive ahead of them, and they still had a lot of work to do at the laboratory, which they would soon have an even better laboratory, and Bill, Rabbit, and Preacher wanted to stop by some dealerships in the morning to look at vehicles to purchase.
