Work Text:

The moment Will saw her and Vickie, Robin knew fate and desire was bound to catch up.

The way he kept asking how she did it, almost as if he was...curious. Too curious, like he wanted what she had.

She didn't question it yet, but the slight glances she saw him give to Mike, the bump in the shoulder, brush in the knee, he was flirting.

It was laughable, his attempt. How innocent he still is, not knowing if he was doing the right thing. That's what led to their blossoming friendship. Built from similarities and trust.

They'd hang out whenever there was time, occasionally whispering then and there.

Robin didn't know it yet, but soon, she would love spending time with Will. Just like how Steve was with the Henderson child.

They had just came back with the drugs, the one they took from the hospital. They biked back from the place to bunker, bag in front.

"Here are the goods" she huffed as the bag filled with sleeping drugs was set on the table. She really didn't know what they were called, nor cared.

"We grabbed a syringe too just in case.." Will said while taking out the three brand new plastic syringes still in their packets.

Robin looked at him carefully, as if she thought he was doubting their plan, that a backup was in need.

"What?" He shrugged at her. "The syringes are good, just in case.." Joyce tried to ease the nonexistent 'tension'.

In the bunker, had Mike, Nancy, Jonathan, Joyce and the newly arrived Robin and Will. Nancy was pacing around the room while Mike was sitting on one of the chairs, staring straight at the marble floor.

Jonathan walked up to the trio, standing beside his mother. "You sure about this?" He hovered over Joyce. His breath hot and nervous.

"It's simple, really. You—in this case Erica—just has to feed the family the drugged induced pies and keep them at bay until the effects kick in. Then the rest of the group comes in and go all home alone and shit in their house, set up booby traps, traps, and all kinds of traps. While we, and I mean Will, me and you," she motions to Joyce "bring the passed out family to a barn southeast"

Robin took a deep breath, clinging to Will's shoulder as she tried to gather herself from all that talking. Will swayed, seemingly surprised at the sudden change of weight in his balance as he held Robin's hand on his shoulder.

"Take a seat Robin, I insist" he mumbled, not looking at her. "Best idea you've ever had Byers."

As they took a seat on the couch next to Mike's chair, Robin let out a loud huff and slumped on the sofa. "How do you kids handle biking so much?" She whined.

Will slumped beside her, not as exhausted as her but still tired. "If you've biked since 10 you'd get it" she side-eyed him from the corner of her eyes. "I would if my mother had money to buy me a bike as a child."

"I would not want your mother at all" he commented. "You wouldn't survive a day in my life Byers."

"Wouldn't Rockin' Robin have a rockin' life?" Robin sat up straight and directly scoffed. "I thought you were wise, Will the Wise?" She gave him a snarky smile.

He huffed at her comment and rolled his eyes playfully. "Oh my god.." They were both smiling and grinning wildly before laughing at their nonsense.

Mike watched them in fury in the background. He should've noticed it before, but Will and Robin had been getting very close lately. Too close for his liking.

It used to be him that Will shared his laughs. His special smile meant for Mike, their shared look. It was supposed to be Mike that was laughing with him, not this random old lady.

Emphasis on the 'old' I mean, come on! Robin was totally way to old for him, for any of them. What is she, 18? 19? Definitely too old for a 16 year old.

Okay fine, Mike might be over reacting. A 2 year age gap is nothing. He should be happy for him, that Will found someone he was comfortable with. Even if that someone..... wasn't Mike.

No, it's not okay. Never, at all. Will should be spending his time with Mike, not Robin. She barely knows him. Hell, she wasn't even there when he got kidnapped or possessed by Vecna!

So she has no right to barge in a steal him away. She never even thought to communicate with him throughout the summer, now she want's him because he got all handsome, matured and cute?

There are many other kids who are within her age that are handsome, mature, and cute. Out of all of them, why Will?

Mike could kinda understand her. I mean, he's charming, kind, caring and gentle. He would never hurt a fly even if it killed him, which is unlikely from how adorable he is.

Mike doesn't hate anyone, the only actual person he hated was Vecna, and Robin was sure slowly becoming a close second.

Mike was pulled out of his thoughts as soon as he heard a thud. He rushed towards Will, who was now on the floor, red and tearing up. Mike assumed the worse and glared at Robin, who was grinning ear to ear.

"Will! Are you okay? Did she hurt you? What happened?" He stammered over his words. Will Chuckled before taking a deep breath. "Nothing, nothing at all. Mind helping me up?" He wiggled both of his hands in the air.

Robin got up off the couch but as soon as she was about to grab his hands, Mike nudged her to the side. "I got it" his tone came out a bit snarkier than intended, but he didn't care.

Robin glared at Mike as Will finally stood up onto his feet. "Rude" she muttered under her breath only to receive a venomous look from the dark-haired boy.

"Thanks...Mike" he was sure he was as red as a tomato, but Will tried his best to hide it. Clearly Robin noticed and was giving him an ear-splitting grin.

"Why were you crying?"

Will was taken it back by this random comment. "Crying?" He repeated, confused. "You were tearing up, did she do something?" He motioned towards Robin.

"Excuse me?" Which she did not sound glad by. Mike didn't pay her anymind and looked directly at Will, who was about to explode any second by the amount of staring.

"N..no! Not at all" he jumbled his words as he fidgeted with his fingers. Robin, as if reading the room, tapped Will's shoulder, causing him to look at her instead of the intimidating Mike.

She cleared her throat and stared at Mike. "We're gonna go now, right Will?" She slowly turned her head towards Will who was staring straight at her. "Y-yeah! Lets go now.." His voice cracked slightly.

The way Mike's face slumped made Will's heart break, but he couldn't handle being in the same room as his bestfriend, so he walked away with Robin beside him.

"Oh my god..." She breathed a sigh of relief as soon as they were out of reach. "Did- did you see the way he look at me? At you? Oh my.. I-" Will's sudden giggling stopped her from rambling.

"Gosh, I almost had a heart attack" he stared into the sky as they reached outside. "I could tell" she giggled with him.

"He cares about you, a lot" Will's eyes burrowed as he squinted. "What? Wh-what do you mean?"

"Did you see his face? I mean- he looked like he was bout to kill me when he thought I hurt you and then his soft eyes when he asked if you were okay and when his face glummed after I told him we were gonna go, just look at him Will! He is whipped for you!"

Will swatted away her delusions and turned to her. Robin stopped walking alongside him as he held her shoulders.

"Mike is with El, and I've learned to accept that. You were right Rob, Mike IS my Tammy.." Robin grimaced at the memory of Tammy.

"No Will, I was wrong! Mike is your Vickie! I promise! Trust me on this, Will!" She called after him as he slowly walked away.
