Eunseok wasn’t sure when it began, but he had first noticed the change in Sungchan’s behavior about a year earlier. After eating some bad sushi, Shotaro had gotten severe food poisoning and ended up spending a couple of days in the hospital. During those couple of days that Shotaro was in the hospital, Eunseok had never seen Sungchan as worried as he was during those couple of days. Even when Sungchan and Shotaro left NCT to re-debut in RIIZE, Sungchan hadn’t been nearly as stressed as he was when Shotaro was hospitalized. When Shotaro was well enough to return to the dorms, Sungchan waited on him hand and foot for over a week while Shotaro recovered.
After that, things change between the duo. At first, Eunseok didn’t really notice, but the more time that passed, the more obvious it became. Sungchan now spent almost all his free time with Shotaro. He asked Wonbin to switch dorms with him so that he could be in the same dorm as Shotaro, and from what Sohee said, Sungchan basically moved into Shotaro’s room, spending most nights sharing Shotaro’s single bed. What really cemented the idea that the duo was dating was when Shotaro complained that the music video set was cold. “It’s April, why is it so cold?” Shotaro whined, rubbing his bare arms in an attempt to warm himself up.
“Hyung, take my sweater,” Sungchan immediately offered, reaching to pull his sweater off.
“Are you sure? I don’t want you to be cold,” Shotaro asked, hesitating to accept the offered sweater.
“Yeah, I am not cold,” Sungchan assured, pushing the sweater at Shotaro.
“Thank you,” Shotaro thanked, a light blush forming on his cheeks as he accepted the sweater.
Taking the sweater, Shotaro pulled it over his head, happily sighing as he quickly felt himself warming up. Watching this moment, Eunseok just knew. It was such a simple action, but seeing the care Sungchan took and the look on his face as Shotaro snuggled into his coat, Eunseok was sure the two of them were dating.
