A Timely Rescue Late One Christmas Eve

Summary:

Tony had not been feeling up to the crowds at Timely's Winter Festival this year. So, he slipped out of the crowd and went for a wander in the fading light. He hadn't expected to wander too close to the old Roxxon silver mines and the Savage Mountain.

Work Text:

A nighttime wild west scene, far from town. An arid landscape lit up by the stars and the twin moons. In the foreground, an alien fox prowls for food. A reptilian bird sits in a dead tree. There is a cave in the mountains in the distance, lit by a fire made by its two occupants. ''You should be more careful, Stark,'' a voice coming from the cave says.
Tony Stark inside the cave. Wounded and his clothes tattered, but he's in good spirits after his rescue. ''Didn't think with the winter festival, anyone would notice my absence.'' Stark says, holding up a stick, ''Did dodging the reaper gain you some new abilities, Sheriff?''.
Sheriff Rogers unfolds a large blanket, avoiding meeting Tony's eyes. ''Nearly 900 people in all of Timely, all out tonight celebrating. All I had eyes for is you...'' he says. Visible on his neck is scarring from his near-death experience. His star badge still bears visible damage from the gunshot.
Steve and Tony cuddled close under a blanket in the cave. Tony's hand is resting on Steve's knee. Steve's arm is wrapped around Tony's shoulders. A large fire is burning in front of Tony to the right.
