Following Loki's attack on New York, Loki is put before Odin for judgment and when Odin speaks of how it's only because of Frigga he is not being executed, Loki goads Odin into carrying it out. Much to Loki's shock, Odin calls Loki's bluff, but before the execution can be carried out, the TVA intervenes. Loki is ultimately pruned and left face to face with Alioth, ready to accept death once more when two very familiar Midgardians save him.

Loki has used dark magic to take control of the Stark Kingdom, and placed their Prince under a horrible curse. Since then, Tony Stark has been under Loki's command, forced to help Loki construct his terrible machines, only able to do, say, or even think what Loki instructs him to.
Of course, as in all fairy tales, there IS a way to break the curse. If Tony ever reaches sexual climax, then he will be free of Loki's control... But, for as long as he's under Loki's control, he is not able to so much as think about it.Which leaves Steve to act as a white knight of a very different kind...
