Summary
Cybertron is dangerously close to war with its colony planets after many of them fell lock-step behind Pyroxus, one of the first planets to be successfully colonized by the supremacist Nova Prime before his mysterious disappearance. Pyroxus has an abundance of energon thanks to its proximity to the Kamacite asteroid belt, and has found ways to throw its weight around, much to the chagrin of the Senate. In reaction to the growing union of colonies, the senate has staged Nominus Prime's assasination, blaming it on domestic terrorism, in order to replace the docile prime with one who would wield the strength to rule, raising the status of Prime out of the ceremonial and back into a position of power. They did not foresee their favored weapon choosing to instead protect himself to fight terrorism at home. Meanwhile, the senate's very own chief medical officer risks incurring senate wrath in opening an underground clinic in a district of Rodion the locals have dubbed "the Dead End." Orion Pax, an archivist by spark, but lower level officer by function, hounds a new threat rising in the dark underbelly of Cybertron's cities. A young, homeless mech fights for survival. And a poet weaves dreams of peace into nightmares of war.
