You borrow what I lend. What, is this mystery P.I. guy some sort of utility?
The lack of hypothetical tense is far from preferable. House is speaking as if this is going to happen; as if Wilson's already agreed, clasped hands, signed his soul away. It's nothing short of thrilling, but he'd rather dig his own grave than admit that.
Or: Wilson finds himself involved in another one of House's relationships, amidst a fair few privacy violations.
