A lot happens, and suddenly. The front door opens; the mark steps outside. They start walking across the carpark, seemingly headed for Elena and Jane (what?!). At the same time, Sabina bursts out from around the building’s side (what?!) and outright sprints across the lot, heading straight for them …Jane whirls, going mission ready in a heartbeat. Somehow Elena registers that Jane has (already) pulled out weapons from beneath her outfit. There’s some kind of pistol cocked in one hand and a combat knife flicked open in the other. Elena is still fumbling with her handbag, yet to remove the Glock 19 she has hidden inside. Yet to even open her handbag, truth be told: she’s having trouble …
“Sabina!” yells Jane, at the same time as Sabina yells:
“Jane!”
They run towards each other, fast. Elena is left behind, staring after her girlfriends in consternation. Though small mercies, the handbag has finally clicked open. She reaches inside, withdraws her trusty pistol. Elena looks for a relevant target, tries to work out what’s happening … she’s by no means sure …
