Summary
Lisa Swain, a new resident to Weatherfield, opens a speakeasy, ‘Fox & Fable’ after leaving the Police Force following the corruption, manipulation and coercive control at the hands of her ex-wife who faked her own death, walking away from those that she trusted and loved most.

“Need a hand?”Lisa misjudged the weight of the keg as she dropped it, fuelled by the raspy voice behind her making her jump. She turned, to see a woman with dark eyes, an infectious smile and killer cheekbones leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, in which Lisa wanted to haul the kegs inside. The woman had a casual confidence about her—almost cocky, but not quite, and Lisa felt a flicker of irritation at the suggestion.
“I’ve got it, thanks,” Lisa replied, knowing full well she hasn’t got it at all, but she forced a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. She was knew to town and still wary of strangers. Opening the speakeasy was her way of becoming a part of the community—and she didn’t want to blow it before it’d even begun, so, she tried to keep her distance, at least until the start of the opening night.
Carla looked at her, a smirk playing on her lips. “Sure you do. Just trying to help, you know.”
