Summary
It is the year 781 Shane Hollander is a prodigy squire poised to become a knight in Normandy. Serving Sir Scott and Lord Kip of Dieppe means joining Scott in his keeping of the French coast, watching for the British and the new Viking scourge. After hearing about the massacre in Essex, Scott is determined to preserve as much life as possible and enters into negotiations with the Danes to ensure financial and physical security to his people. To do this, he has invited the Danes to witness a tournament in his hometown. Will the Vikings enjoy the display, be impressed by French combat prowess, or will he be handing over the keys to the Seine?
Shane is looking forward to his first Squire Games at the tournament and is completely focused on preparations and victory. Well, almost completely focused. A certain Viking with alluring eyes and a devilish tongue is making that very difficult, especially when their chemistry awakens something in Shane.
