Past Lives Potion
So, you're looking for a way to remember your past lives? Well, you've come to the right spell! If you've had any past lives, this spell will help you find it.
Ingredients
- 8-10 drachms of water
- a piece of the body of the focal participant (hair, teeth, nails, or skin recommended, less potent with bodily fluids)
- a bite of an underripe peach
- a bite of an overripe plum
- 4 frog toes, dried (see Spell #31 -- Mild Inconveniences for Your Nemesis or Sibling for other ways to make the most of your frogs)
- 2 wings of an insect (bees, moths, or dragonflies are recommended)
- 2 leaves from a willow tree
- one acorn or a small pinecone
- 2 drachms of dogsbreath (preferably fresh, store-bought is fine)
If you’re looking to reawaken the past lives of a lover, friend, enemy, or soulmate, you’ll need to adjust things slightly
Additional ingredients for other participants:
- 1 daisy per participant (2 for two people, 3 for three people, you get the idea)
- hairs from two sisters
- the penis of a newt, ground
- feathers from a dove, fluff removed from the quill
Instructions:
- You heat the water in a stone vessel
- You remove a piece of the body, gently, and let it dry if blood gets on it. Once dry, you add it to the heated water
- You take a bite of an underripe peach and spit it out. You do the same with the overripe plum.
- In a separate bowl, you grind together the frog toes, insect wings, willow leaves and acorn/pinecone. (This is when you would add the additional ingredients for a lover, friend, enemy, or soulmate.)
- Once the body, peach, and plum solution reaches a rolling boil, you can add the dogsbreath. You stir slowly until color is unified.
- You take the liquid solution off the heat and slowly incorporate the dry ingredients. After mixing for a few minutes, a paste should form.
- You must let it cool completely, store in a clean glass container under moonlight for at least 1 night. It'll keep for up to 2 moon cycles but loses potency with time.
- When you are ready to reignite your memories, spread the paste on some bread or fruit (salty bread masks the taste best, not well... but best). If awakening someone else's memories, you must eat the spell paste together. They are going to be mad at you for serving them something that tastes the way this does. You must convince them that it actually doesn't taste so bad and to finish eating it.
- When you start feeling sleepy, you (and your other participants) should adjourn to a place with guaranteed quiet and darkness. You don't want your dreams of your past lives to be interrupted. You might sleep for more than 12 hours.
Notes:
- If you've stirred for a few minutes in step 6 and the paste is too runny, gradually add more willow leaves.
- If you've stirred for a few minutes in step 6 and the paste is too dry and thick, gradually add more dogsbreath.
- If you or your other participants fall into a never-ending sleep, you'll have to try bathing in sea water blessed by the moon. This may also help you awaken your current life while retaining memories of your past lives. True love's kiss can be used as a last resort to restore consciousness.
- On rare occasions, body-swapping has happened from use of this spell by multiple participants. You should check Margraive's Tome on Hijinks and Explications for body-swap reversals.
- Any emotional distress upon reincorporating your past lives cannot be blamed upon the makers of this spell.
