Chapter Text
Your footsteps echo softly as you and Cedric hurry down the dim corridor, the faint glow of torchlight flickering over the stone. His fingers lace through yours again—warm, reassuring, and maybe gripping a little tighter after the moment you both shared by the lake.
You’re still smiling when a deep voice booms behind you.
“And what do you two think you’re doing?”
You both freeze.
Cedric’s hand goes rigid in yours.
Slowly—very slowly—you turn around.
Hagrid stands there, massive arms crossed, lantern dangling from one enormous hand. His beard is rustling in the faint breeze coming from an open window.
Your shoulders drop in relief.
“Oh—Hagrid,” you breathe. “We just went out for an evening walk.”
He eyes you both for a long moment, gaze flicking to your rumpled clothes, your wind-tangled hair, Cedric’s flushed cheeks.
But Hagrid only gives a knowing nod.
“Right then,” he says gruffly. “You both get back to your rooms. Go on, off with yeh.”
A smile peeks through his beard—warm, amused.
“Thank you, Hagrid,” Cedric says quickly, tugging you along before the groundskeeper can change his mind.
When you’re out of earshot, Cedric exhales into your hair, soft enough to be a laugh.
“That was a close one,” he whispers.
You nudge him with your shoulder. “You almost gave us away with how hard you froze.”
He grins in the half-light, then presses a quick kiss to the top of your head—something gentle, something that still sends a spark through you.
You round the next corner—
And stop.
Someone is leaning against the archway, arms crossed, pale hair glowing silver in the moonlight spilling through the tall window.
Draco Malfoy.
His smirk stretches slow and sharp.
“Well, well,” he drawls. “What do we have here?”
You groan. “Oh, quiet, Malfoy.”
“We were just out for a walk,” Cedric adds, surprisingly calm.
Draco tilts his head. “Right. And I suppose the wind only picked up when you two were alone?”
You blink. Cedric frowns.
“What might you be implying?” you ask.
He points between your heads with a raised brow.
“Your hair. It’s completely wrecked. Both of you. I’m many things, but I’m not stupid.”
Cedric rubs the back of his neck, failing miserably to hide the grin tugging at his lips. You try to pat your hair down, which only seems to make Draco snort.
“I don’t follow,” you say—poorly.
Draco’s laugh is soft and disbelieving. “Yeah. Right.”
Then he pushes off the archway, brushing past you with a dramatic roll of his eyes.
Cedric clears his throat. “Well… we ought to turn in, Y/n.”
You soften, giving him a sweet nod. “Right, Cedric.”
He squeezes your hand as you both begin to walk towards the basement.
You turn.
“Night, Draco.”
He lifts a hand in a half-hearted wave without looking back. “Try not to get caught next time.”
You blink. “Next time—?”
But Draco is already gone, footsteps fading down the corridor.
---
Cedric’s fingers tighten around yours as he pulls you into the shadowed alcove near the common room entrance—just out of sight, but not out of earshot if someone were to pass by. His breath is warm against your lips as he murmurs, "One more. Just one more."
The first kiss is soft, lingering—a promise. The second, deeper, his tongue tracing the seam of your mouth until you gasp. By the third, his hands are framing your face, thumbs brushing your cheeks as his mouth moves to your jaw, then lower, nipping lightly at the sensitive skin beneath your ear. You arch into him, fingers twisting in his robes as he drags his lips down the column of your throat, pausing to suck a bruise into the hollow where your pulse flutters.
"Cedric," you stammer, knees going weak when his teeth scrape your collarbone.
He hums against your skin, hands sliding down to grip your hips, pressing you back into the stone wall. "Tell me to stop," he breathes, mouth trailing heat along your shoulder.
You don't.
The fourth kiss is filthy—all tongue and teeth and the quiet, desperate sounds you swallow between you.
A giggle escapes you, giddy and breathless.
Then, Cedric's hands find their way under your jumper, cold hangers tracing their way up your spine. His icy fingers tugging at the clasp of your bra.
"Cedric!" you gasp, playfully slapping his bicep. "Haven't you figured we've enough fun for the evening?"
He tilts his head at your, "Yeah? And when has that ever stopped us?"
You snicker softly, "You're impossible, y'know?" He shrugs, tugging you back into another kiss.
The clasp gives way under his practiced fingers, and you gasp as the chill of the winter air meets newly exposed skin. Cedric doesn’t hesitate—his palms slide up your ribs, thumbs brushing the undersides of your breasts in a slow, maddening tease.
"You’re shaking," he murmurs against your mouth, though his own breath isn’t steady either.
You bite your lip as his fingertips trace circles, agonizingly light, until you whimper, running your hands through his hair. That pulls a rough sound from him, and suddenly his mouth is everywhere—sucking a nipple into the heat of his tongue, teeth grazing just enough to make your back arch off the wall.
His mouth finds yours again.
Daring to pull away from the kiss you manage to spit out, "Really, off to bed with you!" You tease.
His hands clip your bra back into place.
He pouts then jokes, "You're really no fun."
"Wow, I am offended." You mock offence, then smile. "But really,"
"I know, I know." he sucks in a breath, "Just, one more thing." His hands cup you face pulling you into another kiss.
"Alright," You laugh, "Goodnight, Diggory." You plant another kiss on his lips.
As you tug away, his eyes, still closed, face giving away he is still hungry for more. You let out a small giggle.
"What?" He asks with a shy smile.
Shaking your head you say, "Nothing, Ced. I just love you is all." Your fingers release from his.
"Why, I love you too."
You whisk away to the girls' half, blowing him a kiss, which he catches. His cheeks still rosy.
You shut the door behind you, back now pressed on the wood. You let out a sigh. Then a lamp switches on. You gasp. Your bunkmates all sitting at the edges of their bed eager.
"What?" You say, cheeks flushed.
"Have a good time with Cedric, Y/n?" One teases.
You and the girls giggle.
Stopping your laugh, "I haven't got a clue of what you are talking about."
Another playfully throws a pillow at you.
"Tell us! What did you do?" Your friend Alice says, eyebrows dancing with curiosity.
You advert your gaze, a sly smirk forming across your lips.
The girls gasp in unison.
"You did not!" Alice throws a hand to her mouth.
You shrug, "Maybe..." You can't escape your smile.
"Y/n L/n!" Another girl gasps.
Tossing yourself on your bed you say, "That's enough chat for tonight, girls."
They all sigh reluctantly and flick off their lights.
