Summary
“I mean, you kind of did the same thing yesterday,” Lucius tells him afterwards, when they’re reviewing the day’s adventure for the logbook. Ed’s somewhere out on deck, which is a very good thing, since Stede is having a bit of a panic. “And the day before, and the day before—”
“Did I really?” Stede wails in horror.
“And the day before,” Lucius confirms. “Except then it was ‘dear heart.’ No, wait, it was ‘my love.’ ‘Dear heart’ was the day before that. Actually, I don’t think you’ve called him by just his name in like, a week.”
Or, Stede realizes he's maybe, possibly started calling Ed rather revealing things.

Summary
“You,” Ed starts to interrupt him, then stops, clearing his throat. His voice is almost— gritting, cracking in the middle. When he starts again, he’s stronger, but still— shaky. “You made me this? I mean— You made this? For me?”
Stede’s not entirely sure what he means by that, but he has that little bubbling sensation he always gets when Ed is making him happy. It’s this simmering, glowing joy that always rises inside him, like it’s going to blow him up. He’s already smiling.
“I did,” Stede says. Ed sits up properly beside him, and Stede nudges his shoulder, jostles him a bit. “I thought you could use something a little bit soft. Besides me, you know.”
He’s expecting Ed to tease him in response, but instead, he doesn’t speak. He just keeps staring down at the blanket, clutched between his fingers.
or: five times stede did things for ed, and one time ed did something for stede. -

Summary
Mary looked at Stede. Stede looked back at Mary, his eyes pleading. Mary sighed again. Stede was annoying, and undoubtedly the stupidest man she’d ever had the misfortune of knowing. But she had wondered for a while if, now that they had thrown off the shackles of their forced marriage, they could, possibly, be friends. And this would probably be her only chance to find out.
Besides, she was dying to meet this ‘Ed’ of his and see for herself what sort of person could fall in love with a man as odd as Stede Bonnet.
