Excellent Clint Barton centric fiction
A collection of excellent fics which are Clint Barton centric (counting centric as: either the main character, or one of two or three main characters who share equal screen time). In these fics, the writing excellently displays Clint's character development, though the character/setting may be AU. Amazing feats optional (but realistically, frequent - this is Hawkeye..). Any or no pairing, any rating.

“I don’t know what you mean.”
The man runs a broad hand up the back of his neck, mouth pulling to the side as he seems to consider his words.
“Skin feels too tight sometimes? Feels like you gotta keep moving, but no place feels right? Got an ache deep in your bones that you just can’t seem to get rid of?”
“What —” Bucky swallows, the rest of the sentence jagged in his throat. He knows there are Avengers who are witches, or telepaths, or whatever, but he’d never heard of Hawkeye being one of them. “How are you — are you in my head? —”

Summary
When a professor of archaeology at a midwestern university disappears while on a dig, the Director of SHIELD takes an unexpected interest. Now Agents Clint Barton and Phil Coulson are being sent to the city of Driftless to investigate. Undercover. As married students.
Clint quickly finds himself knee-deep in potsherds and surrounded by suspects-- and possibly even zombies-- while navigating his pseudo-relationship with Phil.
Phil, meanwhile, is having the time of his life. It's the perfect opportunity for him to finish his PhD dissertation and rid himself of his annoying preoccupation with Clint's ass. Or so he thinks.
But in Driftless, very little is exactly what it seems.

Clint hasn't felt this alone in a long time. Coulson's gone, SHIELD isn't a home anymore, and no one on his new team seems to like him. After a lifetime of being ignored, Clint's gotten good at demanding attention. He'll annoy and frustrate and piss everyone off until they notice him. To him, any attention—even the negative kind—is good attention.
This poses a problem when they all finally learn to just ignore him.
