Summary
My headcanon, pre-series foundation for most of my Modern Family fics mostly centered around the original six adults of the show: Mitch, Cam, Claire, Phil, Gloria, and Jay, though Dunphy kids and maybe Manny included. Their characters will be more of a Fanon type, especially Cam. Sometimes the Foundation applies partially like 'Letters to us', 'Theatre', and 'Is there hope in a world so bleak?'. The two complete AUs that have nothing to do with MoFy Foundation are 'What you do with the gift of life' and 'We were kids on the street' due to at least two adult characters having completely different upbringings/backgrounds before the show’s timeline besides Jay. Stories are subject to modification due to ongoing stories.
2 headcanons I'll never have as their own fics that take place pre series are the abuse Mitchell went through with his grandfather and with his ex because I feel I've said enough in my series through flashbacks or stories like Napkin Signal and Glass Walls. And I feel I'd have to give grandfather Pritchett a name. 1 that'll only be referenced is Jay's time in Vietnam.
Despite Ao3's insistence on labeling the whole series M, only Sacred Promises is. The rest are G and T rated
