Eddie looks up with a look of such offense that Steve might’ve thought he’d seriously upset the guy if he wasn’t also using his tongue to trace seemingly meaningless symbols across Steve’s thighs while making it. “You wouldn’t.”
It’s still almost too much to believe, Steve thinks, staring up at his still-shadowed ceiling. Eddie feels like a fever dream, so fucking good he couldn’t possibly be real. “Come on, Eds, shout, shout, let it all out, man. You know you want to.”

It’s just not something he’s used to. Most of the girls he’d fucked or fooled around with, it wasn’t like they stuck around afterward for pillow talk and snuggling. And even Nancy, when they’d dated, wasn’t exactly what he’d call a cuddler.
Eddie was, though. In fact, Eddie Munson might be the single most tactile person Steve has ever met. Sure, he restrained it somewhat, at least in Steve’s case, for obvious reasons when their friends were around, but he was still the one who never seemed to be afraid to reach out, grab someone’s hand, ruffle somebody’s hair, or in Henderson’s case, go for a full-body surprise tackle if the mood struck him. It was something Steve was deeply envious of, because Steve is pretty sure he stopped reaching out to anyone, for anything, when he was like…nine.

Water still dripping down the back of his neck, Steve’s just turned out the light, convinced that if he just shuts his eyes and stays still, quiet, that it’ll just happen. He’ll drift off (that’s never how it happens, but hey, the 457th time's the charm right?
But he’s barely looked at the back of his eyelids for, he swears, more than a minute or two when he hears it — a loud thump. Three years of hyper-vigilance sends him flying down the stairs, white-knuckling the bat (sans nails) he keeps underneath his bed, stopping at the landing to switch on the light that illuminates the foyer.
“Munson?”
Eddie’s clearly just scrambled to his feet, the coat rack by the door toppled over, a myriad of random coats littering the floor, because he’s brushing his long hair out of his eyes and looking slightly more disheveled than usual. When he meets Steve’s eyes, it’s with a sheepish smile and a shrug. “Can we pretend my entrance was a lot cooler than that?”

I couldn’t sleep.” Eddie says, exhaling the last bit of smoke from the drag he’d taken from his cigarette before ashing the whole thing in the tray on the windowsill. When that’s done, he brushes off his hand on his boxers before threading his fingers through Steve’s hair, unruly in a way it really only was after sleep. Or after getting fucked within an inch of his life, Eddie thinks, only a little smug. “You know, you don’t have to sit down there if you don’t —”
Steve just shakes his head. “Want to. Just keep playing. Just wanna sit here.”
And the only thought Eddie’d had in response to that was, 'Christ, he really is such a good boy.'

Eddie laughs as he unbuckles his seatbelt, and Steve’s too, before reappearing at the passenger’s side to open the door with a dramatic flourish and bow. It’s more funny than chivalrous because the van’s passenger door is, like, hanging by a thread, and they both wince when the hinges squeal loudly in protest. “No, honey. Just to you, these days.”
