Summary
It’s like Travis was waiting to antagonize him.
The first problem arose when Sal was trying to set up one of the tents. He’d been just about done when the whole thing suddenly collapsed.
He looked over to see a smirking Travis holding one of the stakes and a hammer. “Oops, was this yours?” He asked innocently.
“Seriously?” Sal huffed. “Don’t you have anything better to do? Like setting up your own tent?”
“I am setting up my tent, but I was short a stake.”
OR: The Sally Face gang goes camping and ends up at the same campsite as Travis and his friends. It goes about as well as expected.
OR OR: The only way Travis knows how to get Sal's attention is to bully him. It takes an argument, an accidental confession and falling down a cliff for him to learn all he had to do to get Sal to hang out with him was to ask.

Sal clicked his tongue. “Larry and the others were right about you, you’re just as bad as everyone else. You think you can handle it, but the moment you see what’s under the prosthetic you stop seeing a person.”
Everything in Travis’ mind warped into pure static as he blinked, now utterly confused. “Wait what-“
“It’s better this way. I’d rather not waste my time with someone like you. I have my friends, and they care about me no matter what’s under here,” Sal gestured to his prosthetic. “They’re all I need.” He bit out before turning on his heel and storming off.
And somehow, Travis was left even more confused than before.
OR: Travis didn't contact Sal all summer because he thinks everything he feels is wrong. Sal misunderstands and thinks it's because of his face.
OR OR: Travis needs to work out his feelings and Sal is confident about everything but his face.

Larry scoffed, running a hand through his hair. “I knew this was a mistake. All of this is a mistake.”
Travis’ eyes narrowed. “What’s a mistake?”
“You and Sal!” Larry hissed. “You two are a mistake!”
Travis’ nostrils flared. “WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM!?”
“MY PROBLEM IS MY BROTHER IS DATING AN ABUSIVE ASSHAT WHO CAN’T TAKE CARE OF HIM!” Larry shouted furiously.
OR: Now that Sal and Travis have been dating for 3 months, Travis decides it's finally time for him to try and get along with Larry. It goes just as well as expected.
OR OR: Travis and Larry both just really care about Sal, and Sal just wants his favorite people to get along already.
