Summary
He let Roy do as he pleased, but he couldn’t find it in himself to savor it. The softness in which Roy held him, how his fingers stroked up his stomach in small, mindless patterns. Maybe he had liked it before; Roy’s voice when he woke up, the way he smiled when it was just the two of them, the way his hair felt between Dick’s fingertips. Maybe he had even loved it. But now, he could barely even savor it.
Or: Dick was too broken for a lot of things. Roy was one of them.

Summary
Dick looked over to the suit cases lining the wall. His eyes lingered over the Batman suit – his suit, now – before he closed his eyes and let out a breath. He had never wanted to be Batman; Bruce hadn’t wanted that for him either.
Too much stress, too much responsibility, and Dick hadn’t been the one to make the name, Bruce had said.
Nightwing and Robin will be enough, Bruce had said.
Well, even Batman could be wrong.
Or: Bruce dies and Dick Grayson becomes Batman. Too bad no one knows this.

Summary
“Everyone is talking about Tim or Damian – even Jason!” Dick looked away, as if the idea of meeting his eyes was too much, and in a voice so small, he asked, “Is it so wrong to think that it hurt me too?”
“No,” Clark said. “I would even say you were hurt the most.”
Clark recalled how Dick used to show up at his apartment randomly with bruised knuckles and a glum expression and talk about how he never wanted to be Batman. He’d always make some hot chocolate for the boy and dial up Bruce whenever he fell asleep, and Bruce would always placate him with the same old story that always worked no matter how many times Clark had heard it.
Dick had never wanted to be Batman, but he had excelled at it.
Or: after Bruce returned from time, everything seemed to go back to normal. Clark knew otherwise, and he would always be there for the first Robin.

“Will it hinder missions?” Nightwing asked suddenly. “Your breakup.”
Conner wouldn’t let it. Nightwing nodded, like he could see the answer, and maybe he could. Conner wouldn’t put it past him.
“Why are you acting like the leader?” Conner muttered.
Nightwing smiled at him without emotion. Conner couldn’t read it, didn’t try to. A part of him felt like he knew.
In front of them, Kaldur rammed his fist into Wally’s face with just a bit too much force.
Or: After Conner breaks up with M'gann, he goes to Nightwing for company. He seems to keep doing it.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Kon asked slowly.
“It’s new,” Tim repeated, “We’re figuring things out. Why does it matter?”
Why did it matter? Kon didn’t know, not really. But it didn’t sit right with him, made him feel awful. Envy felt like lead in his belly.
“I would’ve liked to know that you were banging my brother,” Kon joked, and it felt like acid on his tongue.
Or: Tim and Jon decide to start fake dating, Kon and Damian obviously didn't get the memo. They aren't exactly pleased about their best friends dating.

“Well,” Tim drew out, mock thoughtful. “Whatever shall I do with the information of Superboy’s identity? I could get a lot off of it, you know.”
“You tell anyone my identity and I’ll give the press the pictures I have of you.” Kon replied.
Tim paused, his body going taut. Something dark filled his eyes and he took another step closer to Kon, their chests pressed together. “That’s hot,” he said, “Who knew you were such a freak?”
“You did the same thing, didn't you?” Kon breathed.
Or: Conner has been stalking Tim Drake, an amazing guy he's in love with. Tim has been stalking Conner Luthor, a great guy he's going to make his. Who knew they were both superheroes?

“You’re Rob?” Kon asked, eyes widening with the realization.
“You didn’t know.” Tim repeated himself.
“You’re Red Robin?!” Kon asked shrilly.
Or: Kon meets the cute, passionate CEO of Wayne Enterprises and decides he's going to woo him. Tim just wants to know how Conner figured out he is Red Robin.

Tim reached over, caressed his cheek, and smiled slightly when green eyes blinked open a few moments later. Bart looked up at him sleepily, his lips curling slightly, and he mumbled a good morning into Tim’s wrist.
“Will you marry me?” Tim breathed. It was not according to plan but for once he couldn’t find it in him to care; it felt right.
Or: Tim throughout the years of having Bart by his side. At least his brother was there with relationship advice.

“My name is Clark,” Clark said.
“I know,” Batman replied.
Clark watched the man for a moment. He didn’t know what he had expected, honestly. The League knew him as Kal-El, not Clark Kent. Maybe he told Batman his name because he had expected him to have already known, maybe he had wanted to surprise him.
“Mine is Bruce,” Batman said eventually.
Or: Clark as he learns more about Batman.

“Oh, God,” Tim rasped, shaking his head wildly and closed his eyes when nausea attacked him.
That wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair. Tim had just found proof that Bruce was alive, and now he’s dying. He’s not going to save Bruce, everyone else thought he was gone and dead, so no one will go looking for the Bat.
“Tim?” Bruce asked, reaching out to him and Tim bit back a wail.
Or: after taking a blow to the head, Tim wakes up with amnesia. He's pretty sure the universe has it out for him, making him hallucinate his family while he's dying.

“I want to know how he died!” Jason snapped after a pause, scowling. “I’ve gone through everything in the system. All the files B has on it says that he died, but there’s no details! There’s no description of the scene, no suspects, no cause of death, no anything. All it says is that he’s dead.”
“Maybe it’s not something you should look into…” Dick trailed off but Jason’s reply was lost to Tim’s ears.
‘That’s not funny.’
Despite his best efforts, a giggle escaped Tim’s lips.
Or: Tim just wanted to drop some information off to the Cave, not talk about the Joker.
