Ever since coming to Askr, Edelgard's taken steps to hide who she is and what she's planned for Fodlan. She'd hardly be considered a hero if anyone knew her path was going to be covered in blood and fire.
And then there was Tiki, a child of the divine and everything Edelgard distrusted about Rhea wrapped up in a somewhat friendlier package. Unfortunately, Tiki seemed to have taken an interest in her, and didn't seem to take 'no' for an answer. Ironically, the dragon seemed more human than some other humans that Edelgard had met...

Bernadetta felt like she was going to die.
As accustomed as she was with the loss of control over her body, the nausea threatening to let go of what she managed to eat stashed away in her room, now it was worse than usual,with her head spinning to the point she had to sit down in the grass to not fall down, her body overly tense and stuck while the smallest of noises reverberates in her head like the chimes of the monastery - oh goddess, she can’t breathe, she can barely notice the shade of green and white heading her way, saying something to her but her thoughts are so loud she can’t make up what they’re saying until the green and white shape is in front of her… and in a moment of clarity Bernie realizes the Archbishop herself saw her in such a pathetic state.
…on second thought, maybe death was better than this.

‘I’m sorry about Dimitri.’ Byleth said, deciding that saying something would be better than saying nothing at all. While she didn’t doubt the war had forced Claude to be confronted with death on more than one occasion, Dimitri’s death in particular hit a little closer to home.
Claude could deny it all he wanted, but Byleth wasn’t a fool. She’d seen the glances they’d given each other during their time at the academy. The way Claude had teased and taunted in order to capture people’s attention, but a certain prince’s attention especially so.
The answer he gave her then didn’t surprise her one bit.
‘Whatever for?’ he asked, almost sounding a little bitter about it.
The way he avoided her gaze spoke volumes.

And then the world shifted; reality tilted and spilled over upon itself. The sparse forest of Galatea bled down; the sun bled with it, and everything suddenly dulled, and in its wake was only cold. Claude came to—a sudden awareness of himself rushing over him, and he felt breathless and exerted, though he had not moved from where he stood.
Snow, like a powder, now littered the ground, and tall, spare pines stretched up towards nothing, but Claude could not see where they ended, and it hurt his head to continue to look. Everything was still, and it felt like the end of the world—after everything was already over. The air was dead, and Claude was alone.
He turned around, took a few calm steps in the direction he came from, but the strangeness didn’t change. He was somewhere else now.
