REWRITE OF "HEBO ESTEL (HAVE HOPE)"
Boromir is in Rivendell by order of his father, and he is not exactly thrilled to be there. His first night in Rivendell, one of the Elves returns an important possession that he unknowingly lost. Despite Elrond's warning to stay away from her, Boromir finds that he cannot abide by his host's wishes. Instead, he endeavors to discover what makes the Elf-maid so threatening, and along the way, something that he believed to be locked inside his heart awakens.
Just as something that Boromir thought he would never have or want begins to take form, the Fellowship departs for Mordor. The journey South tests the Fellowship's resolve and forces them to struggle with the burdens of pain, suffering and loss, and Boromir is pulled in two directions. The moment comes where he must choose between carrying out his father's orders and bringing the One Ring back to Minas Tirith—no matter the cost—or helping to destroy the last hope his people have so that he can be with the one he loves.

Imrahil and Éomer rallied what soldiers they could, but the sight of the Elessar’s hewn body caused even the hardiest of men to throw down their weapons in despair. The retreat from the Black Gates, from the Disaster at the Morannon, was bloody, vicious, and without hope. Men, killed by orcs, or trolls, or the very earth around them, full of poison and wrath.

Far away, beyond the seas of time and space, in the land of Narnia, two kings and two queens sat at table, breaking their fast at the final noon of a great hunt. As one, they heard the mighty sound of Gondor's horn, as one hears the cry of a mighty bird in the heavens. The land darkened before their eyes and the wind picked-up, whirling and battering until not a hair on their heads stood still.

Summary
Éowyn and Faramir both awaken in the Houses of Healing, following the Battle of Pelennor Fields. Faramir faces an uncertain future as the new Steward of Gondor, and he struggles to confront his losses. Meanwhile, Éowyn is dismayed that she did not meet the end in battle that she desired, and struggles to see prospects for herself beyond death as a soldier. By chance, the two of them are drawn together. Will they find hope and healing in one another? How will they build a life and love together from the ruins of war and the crumbling of an age?
This is a detailed gap-filler & book-canon compliant story, detailing how Éowyn and Faramir built their relationship together in the Houses of Healing and beyond, into the Fourth Age. It is intended to be a slow burn with copious characterization, eventual romance, and context-appropriate spice.
The story is in-progress as of November 2025. Thank you for your patience with the slower updates this fall, I hope to get back to a faster pace in Jan 2026 when I finish my grad program! I will update this description and mark complete when finished.

Faramir adjusts to his role as Steward of Gondor, but feels woefully unprepared for the position. When Aragorn returns from Mordor, he doesn’t want him to be disappointed with what he finds. Gradually, he comes to learn that Aragorn is not Denethor, and he has friends he can count on.
Will eventually spiral into a bit of a legal drama re: the Beregond problem, because not enough fics show Faramir stressing and feeling guilty about Beregond’s legal case. Also features the families of the guards that Beregond killed. Very Faramir centric but the other characters are wonderful and important.

Take Rossini's twist, where Cinders and the Prince meet in disguise and fall in love. Plus his addition of a wicked stepfather. Add in a dash of Barber of Seville style evil guardian, a bit of The Horse and his Boy kidnapped-as-a-child type plot device, and a pinch of Twelfth Night style cross-dressing.
