Summary
After passing the chance to be Ladybug onto her new friend, Alya, Marinette Dupain-Cheng becomes the guardian of the miraculous and a less important hero, Mice, in order to watch over the miraculous court. It's a fitting job, even if she realizes at a certain point (insert Lila Rossi here:) she has to burn her friendships in order to protect everyone.
One boy, a boy she texted on accident only to find great friendship with, stands the test of time. Damian Secret-Surname has her trust, which, in fact, is more important than her heart.

It's probably somewhere between Dupain-Cheng helping Jon stitch his favorite flannel back together with more practiced ease than even Pennyworth could manage and her helping Cassandra bake a chocolate cake for Father, walking out of the kitchen with a smear of chocolate batter beside her lips that Damian realizes he no longer wants to just be friends.
And by Allah, Damian Wayne al Ghul is determined to find out if this attraction always goes both ways.

Summary
After hearing a brief description of the class dynamic of the Akuma Class, Mayor Bourgeois all but blackmails Bruce Wayne into sponsoring a trip to Gotham for the summer semester, believing that it will lead to fewer akumas. Word travels to Talia al Ghul, who decides to give an old friend a visit and literally and figuratively throws an engagement at Marinette.
Marinette was having a normal day in Paris- doing her guardian duties, training with Su Han over a video call, and creating clothes for her clients. What she didn't expect was to be forced out of Paris for the entire summer and sent abroad to Gotham. After running into a few assassins, she's a little bit confused about why her Aunt Talia gives her a box, and Batman is confused about why the world's greatest detective team can't find out anything about Paris.
