Georgie was frozen to the spot. In her darkest moments since Dunkirk, she’d imagined the day that the door would open and Jack Collins would step in. She’d fantasized all the different ways that they could meet again, and what he would say when he came back into her life.
But in her fantasies, she was always calm and collected and beautifully dressed, not a coif out of place, in her best shoes. She was never in a tattered apron with her hair matted to her forehead with sweat, using an old dish rag as a kerchief with dried yeast beneath her fingernails.

You don't have to read it, just stay with the happy ending, I think it's better that way, because I regret writing this. But at the same time I don't, because I had to get rid of it. This story deals with the racism and discrimination of Japanese people in the UK during WW2 times. No racial slurs are used here.
