Someone within ten feet made a passing ignorant comment on the slums, and someone else let out a high-pitched laugh that made her flinch, retorting back something just as unsavory. Civility. She just had to get through tonight. She closed her eyes in a long blink, sighing deeply from her nose. Civility.
Ray put down her flute, knowing if she held it any longer it might shatter in her sharp-nailed fingers.
"I don't believe my eyes, is that you Ray?" A voice shook her from her momentary meditation and something close to an electric shock shot through her entire body. She knew that voice. She heard that voice five months ago.

Ever since Dabi had recruited Hawks, the League had become loud. Whenever they were in the same room together, they were constantly antagonizing each other, throwing insults and trading snark, sneering and mocking as often as they were breathing.
“Oh my god,” Spinner groaned. “Just kiss already!"
Dabi and Hawks looked to the other with disdain and clear revulsion. “Ew,” they managed to say simultaneously. “Anybody but him!”
Tomura turned annoyed red eyes onto Dabi and Hawks and found them watching him in turn, each calculating something in their minds.
“I did say anybody,” Dabi announced like it made any sense.
“Yeah, anybody will do,” Hawks agreed.
A strange warmth that felt like anticipation coiled in Tomura's stomach, and as they assessed him, he found that he didn’t want to move.

The Parallelogramophone - A seemingly innocent old-timey looking gramophone with a base in the shape of a parallelogram. Comes with a blank record, that upon being touched by a sentient creature will replay a specific memory with perfect accuracy given that the creature is thinking of it while they touch the record.
If the creature wishes, they can request the memory be viewed differently, whether it be a circumstantial change to the singular memory itself, or a broader change to the universe as a whole. For example, either changing if a person made a decision to go in one room as opposed to another, or changing if that person even existed in the first place.
To enact this change, the creature must scratch the record with the needle of the gramophone before flipping it over to the “b side” and playing it normally.
A creature's record can play as many memories as they wish but can only be scratched once. Once scratched, the record can no longer be changed to a different memory and will only repeat the one altered memory.
The scratch is permanent and is attached to the creature rather than the record itself, which can still be used by other people and will reset upon contact with a new creature.
