She tossed and turned multiple times, the marachi band of bugs seemed to be on its encore due to it getting extremely loud, the noise reverberating and pounding in Rasa’s head.

Pearl had been working on this project for a few days, the dreams she had been having started weeks ago when she fully accepted her new identity as the Scarlet Witch who brought nothing but misfortune and mayhem around her. Even now- as the wolf hybrid worked, she would close her eyes and find herself somewhere else. A field of sunflowers with a lone tree atop a hill, a woman stood beside it in every single one. In every single dream Pearl would come up to this unknown woman, and felt as if the pains of this Life game washed away the moment this woman looked at her.

A man floated through the void, body contorted into an odd position. He sported a scarlet red sweater which must have been clean at one point, but was now stained with a dark crimson.
'Grian.' The faded whisper of a Watcher’s voice swept through the air again. 'Wake up.'
The man recognized his name and sat up, ignoring the trickle of blood that peeked through his hair. “Where am I?”
'You’re at your house.'
Grian gasped as suddenly he was at his house, crumpled on the grass before the wood-and-stone cottage he had designed himself. “W-Why am I here? What are you doing in my head?” Grian’s eyes flickered purple.
'Only… having a bit of fun.'Or, the Watchers try to get Grian to jump off a cliff for fun, Scar stops him.

Maybe that was why he was still awake. His instincts had kept him up, knowing that at any moment someone could pounce and kill them. They were red names, and sleeping was a bad idea. Anyone could come along and slit their throats as they slept.
But the fact that, if this was true, Jimmy trusted him enough to sleep with him watching made Tango’s chest feel warm and fuzzy. He liked the feeling, and it had become one he was familiar with. Whenever Jimmy laughed or beamed that sunbeam-like smile of his or comforted Tango when he felt sad, Tango had felt that feeling. It seemed like every little thing that Jimmy did made Tango’s heart feel full.

Both of them were gone. And Pearl was alone. Utterly alone. She missed Martyn and Ren when the season was early. Hell — she missed Cleo too. Someone needed to be there with her, she couldn’t be alone again. She couldn’t handle the isolation. Pearl just stood there. She stared out at everything in front of her. The blood, Scott’s charred body, the hole where he’d used the TNT… it was all too much.
Slowly, she lifted her sword. She pointed it towards Scott’s body, then she flipped it and pointed it towards herself. Pearl could end it all. End her own suffering. End Double Life as it’s winner, which she already was.

Summary

Summary
Eighteen contestants receive a message from an unknown user asking them to head into the Penacony dreamscape. They are then whisked away into an expanse of wilderness that is surrounded by an unbreakable border. The contestants are told that they have three lives and are soulbound to another player. Once they lose all three lives they and their soulmate are eliminated from the game and gone for good. They must do whatever it takes to survive to the end, and there can only be one soulbound pair remaining.

Summary
Spring had come to the forest without asking permission.
Pearl noticed it in fragments first. The air smelled wrong—green and sharp, like crushed leaves and thawing earth. The breeze carried more pollen than snow. When she shifted her weight, the ground beneath her boots didn’t crunch. Instead, it gave, soft and quiet, damp soil yielding like it was glad to be stepped on.
Pearl laughed. It burst out of her chest, light and breathless, echoing strangely through the clearing. The sound startled her dogs, and they looked up at her, ears perked, tails wagging uncertainly.
“Look at that,” she said, spinning slowly in place, axe loose in her hands. “Spring.”
Pearl wins Double Life, killing Cleo and losing Martyn before Scott chooses death to give her the win. When she arrives on Hermitcraft after the Watchers greet her in the void, Pearl runs from everyone. When she finally speaks to Grian and Scott, she understands that surviving doesn't mean being okay.

"Jimmy. What is this?" Scott struggled to breathe past the black hole that had opened up inside his chest, his mind spinning. He could see sparks falling out the corner of his eye, his magic going haywire in time with his emotions. He must be dreaming. Surely this was a nightmare. There was no way…
The bra was as real as everything else around him. A sports one, sat half hidden under Jimmy's bed. Like it'd been dropped there. Taken off in a hurry maybe. Scott tried and failed to not imagine his boyfriend pulling it off a faceless woman's figure.
"Scott what- where did you find that?" Jimmy asked, his golden wings shifting against his back. He was anxious. Uncomfortable. Scott's initial instinct was to try and comfort him but he let the feeling pass. He didn't want to comfort Jimmy. Not when- well, it seemed like this discomfort was deserved.
Internally Scott pleaded for this to not be real. Such pleading had never saved him before.

The enderman screamed, a muffled, gurgling shriek. Jimmy knew that scream— everyone knew that scream. Out of instinct, he dove under the cover of the nearest tree, noticing too late that it was one block too tall. He bit back a swear, fruitlessly attempting to shield himself as the enderman punched easily through the wood.
Jimmy sprinted to the other side of the tree, sword swinging wildly, but the enderman caught up with him too quickly— before he knew it, he had been propelled into spectator mode, watching his items explode to the ground.or: Jimmy talks to Tango after their final death in Double Life.
