"It's calming," he said as he moved a leg over hers. "It tingles."

Outer layers of clothes were left on the grass. Xinyi dove into the water, kicking his feet hard, propelling himself. Larvae swarmed around him, squealing in joy. He felt them nudge at his skin. Xinyi was far into the lake before he had to surface again. He could hear and feel Egeria approaching. Larvae circled him.
