“How long have I known you, now?” Niall asked Harry, moving his barstool closer to the brunette. The blonde was two pints in and was nursing a third. Harry was still on his first and munching on chicken tenders.
“Three days, six hours and—” Harry stopped to check the time on his phone then continued. “Thirty-five minutes.” He smiled, eyes crinkling.
Niall chuckled and looked away briefly. “I don’t really get it,” he said.
“What don’t you get?” asked Harry, tilting his head to watch Niall.
“Well, you’ve been so kind and everything - given me a new me!” Niall said happily, moving in a little closer to the brunette. “I don’t know how to thank you.”
Harry looked down at his beer sheepishly. “It is really nothing…”
“No, hang on!” Niall said, putting his hand over Harry’s wrist and looking directly into his eyes. “Listen, when we met I was in a bad place - it was more than giving up on music and you knew that. I love my da more than anything in the world but my little room above the shop and the same view of the street outside...that was looking like my life forever. And that was only three days ago. Three days….so thank you.”

Summary

He starts laughing at his own stupid joke, and Niall just groans and says, “You’re the fucking worst.”
“Maybe.” Harry giggles, giving a halfhearted shrug. “But I’m willing to go the extra mile for clients. This is a perfect example, actually. This isn’t a standard part of the training. This is all me. The other instructors don’t do all this.”
“Then why are you?” Niall asks, rolling his eyes.
“Because I want to.” Harry hums.
“I just want it to be clear that I’m not asking for this.” Niall mutters.
“You don’t have to.” Harry chuckles. “It’s part of the ‘Harry experience’.”
“How the hell did I get stuck with someone crazier than I am for this process?” Niall sighs, looking down to Conan for the answer.
“Beginner’s luck.” Harry laughs, causing Niall to roll his eyes again. It’s hardly luck, if you ask him.

Bressie is reticent, as he's swamped with work and triathlon training, but eventually he capitulates, ending up in Thailand with Niall and some of his mates, but not his girlfriend Roz. Tensions and feelings rise between Niall and Bressie during their eventful and ultimately disturbing stay.
When Niall sets his sights on establishing a home base in Ireland, Bressie offers him a place to stay and helps him look for a house. As things between them intesify, Bressie tries for distance, but their paths cross everywhere and neither of them has the self-control to keep from acting on their desires. Bressie must navigate the situation with Roz and his tumultuous relationship with Niall, struggling to do the right thing.
