What Changbin learns is that it's easy to talk to Chan, in the way that it's easy to pick your way through a slaughter, searching for something to salvage. And they do talk, about Jisung, and find mutual interest in chewing him up like watermelon flavored gum, picking out all his flaws and lining them in order of intolerability. Chan has a Fight Club smile; as morbid and queer as the ghoulish senses of addiction to violence, to freedom and rock bottom, jeans low-slung like the power lines at the edge of the city. His eyes are flat and cold and looking past Changbin's, but Changbin can see from his hands that he's not the type to lie. That when it's really bad, Chan searches the alleyways for cigarette butts and sucks them to see what's left of them. That underneath it all, he probably doesn't even hate Jisung, not really.
Or; the story of a three who became a two; and changbin, who both loses and finds himself.
