A wall of sound, disco music mixed with chatter and the clutter of silverware against porcelain dishes, greets him as he squeezes through a crowd of people and pushes through the doors into Her Majesty’s.
The club is bustling with energy tonight. It is a packed house, close to seven o’clock on a Friday evening. It seems like every single table on the floor is filled, some with extra chairs half-hazardly shoved in to accommodate one or two more than capacity. He spots some regulars in between the odd faces, some sitting at the bar nursing cocktails, others piled in with friends or family at the tables close to the stage.
They're all eagerly waiting to see her. The Great Miss Fitzjames.

When word from the Franklin Expedition is not heard by January of 1848, Sir John Barrow approves a single expedition, consisting of sixty-four men, on a single ship; HMS Edinburgh. The same class as HMS Terror; she is heavy, slow, and terrible for the Arctic.
Commanded by a well-meaning incompetent who has never held an active command, chosen purely because of convenience, the expedition meets some of the same horrors that met Franklin and seems destined to suffer the same fate as the expedition they were meant to rescue. Can the crew find Franklin and save themselves at the same time?
Mostly original characters. I will not be including Tuunbaq and most of the details of The Terror will be omitted for the more likely real version of what happened to the men. Regardless, It will be similar to The Terror in atmosphere (hopefully) and include the personality of the characters I do include, so I hope you enjoy.

Yes and no it is him. It had never occurred to Edward, stupidly, that Jopson might have had cosmetic updates performed periodically, and so the Helper who stands before him now is and is not who he remembers. That core of thrilling, awful whatever is still there, but he’s now perfectly, uncannily lifelike, and if it weren’t for the greyjacket clothing and the control module (a lozenge of blinkering lights barely visible through the biohyde at the juncture of mandibular hinge and throat) he’d be easily taken for a man. Actually, specifically, what with the thick black hair and porcelain-doll face, the ruddiness and trace of stubble on the deep-dimpled cheeks, he cannot be differentiated from the specific kind of alarmingly hot man that Edward would prefer not interact with. So. Good thing he’s a greyjacket then.
