Summary
Black and red, those were the colours of House Targaryen. Thought to be inspired by blood smeared through ash, the remants of battlefields after being set aflame by dragons.
Many said it was an omen that Daenerys possessed a dragon with red and black scales, a sign of R'hllor's regard and her divine will.
Others said her dragon was in actuality a demon. After all, nothing had spoken of Targaryen dragons shedding their forms like a snake, until eventually it became bipedal with limbs like a man.
Even with such differing claims, at the very least the rumours the dragon had once been a colony of crustaceans that were twisted in the Doom to become something else was dismissed as folly. After all, that would just be a foolish thing to believe.

Game of Thrones Season 07 and 08, but I change it up a bit. Some of the chapters (at least in the beginning) are actual scenes with a bit extra just to set it up and somewhat aline with the show. However I will be taking creative liberties later on and trying to fix what was was basically a dumpster fire.

Since the dawn of man, the Drowned God had lurked within the waves. Had been the one to send forth the Ironborn, and made them to reave and sack and to carve their names in blood and song. That blessed them with salt, blessed them with stone, blessed them with steel. Listen to the waves, listen to the God.
Of course, Yara may follow the Drowned God as any Ironborn but she was hardly what one would call devout. However after watching the Queen's monstrous child effortless destroy an enemy fleet, killing and devouring everyone it could catch, then she could be forgiven to feel as if she was in the presence of the Drowned God itself.

Daenerys will take control of the situation in Winterfell and play the game of thrones (until she can finally break the wheel). Dany and Jon will not stay silent when confronted with the disdain, racism, xenophobia and hatred The North, their Lords and some of the Starks will show her and her people. Jon's parentage reveal will go down very differently. Jon's secret will stop being a secret once several people know it. It will become knowledge and knowledge is power. They'll use that to their advantage. Dany is a smart, cunning, and capable Queen. She won't let Sansa Stark and her pawns use her love for Jon and his parentage to undermine her and Jon will be by her side. She will prove to them all how she has survived for so long, amassed so much power, and why she deserves to be Queen even without a cock. And it's not because of her beauty, but her intellect. They will learn to respect her, one way or another. She is a Dragon and if needed she will remind them all with Fire & Blood. Jon will also learn what being a Dragon means and will behave accordingly. They will all learn the meaning of the phrase: "Dragons answer to neither gods nor men."
