A work-in-progress pseudo-fanfic, that acts as both a creative writing exercise,
and an unofficial project brief for a proposed anime series set in the
Sengoku Basara universe, based on the popular video games developed by Capcom.
This is part of a series of "Definitive" screen adaptations of popular franchises, as developed by myself, for personal enrichment and enjoyment.The aim of this project is to act as an update to the anime, on the basis that;
1. It would be prudent to develop a series based on the video games with more consistent production values, as the series appears to be in decline, and the continuation of the series is becoming less likely over time. By retelling the story in full, and with improved production value, enough interest could be generated in the I.P. to achieve widespread appeal and justify further installments in the video game series (possibly through a revamp and retelling of the story) and related media.
2. The original anime series deviates too much from the games, which I personally find difficult to enjoy
3. An update will include characters and concepts from the games,
