Summary
Amira realizes, after a disappointing 'date' night, that maybe she and the other Player Characters deserve to be treated a bit better, and that maybe their current love lives aren't attributing much to their happiness. I mean hell, they've been to constant proms, were rejected a countless number of times for menial, small things, and they've never once put their own interests above the interests of their crushes.
It's time that they maybe look towards the future, think long-term, and figure out what they want to do for themselves. (The truth is that they barely saw a future for themselves outside of Spooky High). Because of this shift in goals, their love interests have to flip the tables to make it up to them. Take the time to learn about the monsters who poured their time and love into solving their problems, bringing comfort, and holding their hands through difficult times in their lives.

Or, the player characters feel tossed to the side in this endless cycle of pining for nothing, and now it's time their partners put in the effort in return. Maybe, just maybe, they'll walk away from it stronger than ever.
