Summary
It's been a while since they got into it proper. Sonic's not sure when it started—maybe after the Metal Virus, maybe after everything Shadow pinned on him, Eggman, Starline, the Zeti—but Shadow hasn't touched him for weeks now. At all. Unless it's to kick him, shove him, smack him off course with his shoulder and take the lead in a race. Their fights used to be a little more Shadow grabbing at his shoulders, his waist, pinning him to the ground and digging a knee between his legs. Actual, honest to everything jack-off material.
Now, Sonic gets this. Whatever wet cat-cardboard combo Shadow's decided to take up the mantle of. It's annoying. It's grating. It's why he finally decided, fuck it, sleeping with Shadow's ‘best friend in everything but name’ seems like a pretty good alternative to being dogged around constantly.
It means Shadow's looking at him. Paying attention. 'You won't touch my stuff? Fine, I'll touch yours.'
And Rouge's more than down to clown on Shadow with him anyway.
