Summary
Konoha is the military and industrial heart of the Land of Fire, but even its thick walls are not impermeable to change. Whether it comes from within or from outside, its inhabitants are evolving, just like the rest of the world. The Uchiha brothers are settling into Konoha after a long absence. Hinata is searching for the meaning of her life. For Sai and Ino, art must be worthy of life itself. Sakura and her factory coworkers don't have grand dreams, but they dream all the same. Kiba seeks out life's small joys, just like his Ma'. People live and people die.
This is going to be a slow, low-stake story, aggressively working-class and positively metro-loving so join me as we explore those characters' lives.

Tsume pauses. “Actually - you know what, brat?” she asks, because - because she remembers Kushina and Minato. Remembers Kushina cooing over Kiba as a harried Minato grilled her on how to take care of a baby. Remembers exactly what they gave to Konoha, and how they saved it.
Remembers that they loved their kid. That they wanted him to be happy.
“What were you going to order?” Tsume asks, kneeling down by Naruto as she silently vows to have a talk with the owner of Yakiniku Q.

I killed your pup his voice says and Kiba looks at Akamaru sitting, resting on a little pillow, Hana is sitting there as well, watching him with obvious worry in her eyes.
(Even in death, Ukon makes Kiba suffer, but no one hurts Tsume's children and gets away with it.)
