Devon and Conrad get into some sort of a relationship, eventually living together after Devon's breakup with Leela. They're sneaking around, but can't keep their hands off of each other when they're in the same room. Conrad thinks he might be in love with Devon, not that he'd ever tell him that.
It all changes again when Devon accepts the job offer in Boston. Conrad wants to see him more than anything, but he's worried Devon doesn't feel the same.
Things are further complicated when he starts having mood swings, feeling like he hates Devon every so often. After a few months of other strange symptoms, it becomes clear that Devon left Conrad with more than just a broken heart.

Casualties continue to mount over the long years I've struggled. One of those losses nearly consumed me, and I was incredibly lucky to have survived the aftermath, but I still feel grief’s dull teeth sunken into my soul, gnawing. Aching. More and more I find myself wondering if it's all worth fighting for. Maybe one day I'll find out.
There is one thing I do know. I have a job to do, and I'm going to see it through.
