There was an empty, lonesome groan that emanated from the top of the stairs. When they looked up, all of them froze. A figure holding a sword sat perfectly still on an elaborate throne, elevated by about thirty stairs, frozen in ice and snow. The very air around it was so cold that it desublimed right into a solid. A second passed, and the figure opened its eyes slowly, as if waking up from a deep sleep.
It broke itself out of the ice holding it prisoner, tilted its head stutteringly, its neck too stiff. The Ice Emperor silently stepped down the stairs, unperturbed by the stares on his form. He was even more horrifying than her darkest nightmares. This is the man who Lloyd claimed was his friend? This is the man whom both Pixal and E clearly loved? It can’t be. It’s impossible. How could it be?
“Who… are you…?” The Ice Emperor growled through a metal mask, brandishing the sword in his hand, which fused with the hilt by the ice. As he got closer, one could see the corrupted crystal overtaking his face, leaving nothing uncovered, and leaving Akita to wonder if the rumors and stories were true. If he really was just a vengeful being made of ice.

Akita sprinted with all her might, her arms throwing her forward with each step, panting. In an attempt to get ahead, she jumped onto the highest clouds, watching as the wolf made no indication that it saw her. Like a marathon hunter, she didn’t let any movement go to waste. Perhaps this is what it’s like to run in the forest. She couldn't wait to join her brother.
