And despite everything Skarlet had said before, if she did decide to change her mind in this instance, it wasn't like it would take much to take him out. It wasn't like he knew her that well to begin with; and it really wasn't in his best interest to take her word at face value- even if she had been convincing with it.
Kung Lao wanted to believe her, but this was Outworld, and she was still Shao Kahn's daughter.
