Summary
Something is wrong with Link’s glasses. Rhett notices the reflections first, strange rooms, dark forests, empty cabins, images that absolutely should not exist. And sometimes, reflected in the lenses, he sees himself…but not the version of himself that’s standing there.
As the reflections grow more impossible, Link begins to change avoiding Rhett’s gaze, whispering to things that aren’t there, and guarding his glasses like they’re alive. Rhett becomes obsessed with figuring out what’s hiding in the glass. But the closer he gets, the more he realizes something has been watching him through Link’s eyes for a very, very long time. And it’s finally smiling back.

In the neon-soaked megacity of Mythica-9, mortality is outdated, consciousness is downloadable, and Rhett still refuses to run his software updates.
Rhett and Link have been alive for centuries, long enough to survive collapses, corrupt governments, at least one robot uprising, and several extremely embarrassing advertisements that still use their faces. Immortality should’ve made them wise…but mostly it’s made them irritated, well-preserved, and permanently stuck with each other.
When Rhett glitches so hard he actually dies (only for twelve minutes, but still), Link decides it’s time to finally fix whatever is going on inside Rhett’s ridiculous, possibly corrupted, brain. Unfortunately, the day only gets weirder from there: holographic pancakes, a clingy vending machine neighbor, a city that keeps replaying their old videos, and a creeping system error neither of them wants to talk about.
Just another Tuesday for two immortal idiots in a neon future.
