Hydra frames Fury and the Avengers, succeeding in multiple covert assassinations against the Avenger team. Captain America, Black Widow, and Maria Hill make it out alive and go on the run, only with Maria Hill to be captured and returned to Hydra. Can Maria Hill escape her captivity as Hydra tries to brainwash and install her as a controlled puppet to forward their agenda undetected after they killed Nick Fury?
This is a dark psychological thriller/with non-con smut story. READ ALL TAGS. Fic contains rape, torture, sadism, gaslighting, bondage, brainwashing. I'll try to tw each chapter but assume all tags apply to each chapter for your own benefit. It's going to be a slow build.

The eyes might be still plenty shellshocked – no one gets over a dead timeline inside a few short, chaotic days filled with near death experiences – but… There do seem to be a fewer reasons to worry about his physical health.
He seems stronger. Far from ready to take the Void in his stride, but no longer someone who might struggle to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Unfortunate, really. Because if the extraterrestrial in her bed is up to having a conversation, they should probably have it. Now. Before the next wave of exhaustion has him drifting off to sleep again.

This is a Maria Hill focused Secret Invasion re-write including events prior to the start of the show!
In the fall 2024, Talos and Soren get a sense of Gravik's plans to start a skrull rebellion, but Gravik evades them. Skrull Raava has been impersonating Colonel James Rhodes & Everett Ross has been replaced by a skrull. Maria Hill is hired by the CIA in order for Ross an Rhodey's skrull impersonators to keep tabs on her and any contact she makes with Nick Fury as they set their rebellion in place.
This story explains the background of how Maria and Talos got tangled up with this Rhodey/Ross/Gravik web. It explains how and why Maria was just randomly in Russia (where the show put her which makes no sense) and how she started working with "Ross" and Prescod.
This story also explores the emotional trauma from the blip and the mess that those who returned were thrown into--Maria being one of them. In this re-write Maria lives and this is how I think the show should have gone down, tons of paranoia and trust issues, lots of skrull rebels in important places, and of course a lot more Maria and Fury spy stuff.
