Summary
Set 20 years after the ending of the "City Walls" music video, The Dema Epilogue is the story of Kane and how he navigates carrying on his late father’s responsibilities and beliefs, whilst simultaneously battling & avoiding Nova Bishop, rival Dema citizen Ryder, and other antagonists as they try to put a stop to his efforts. Through Dema breakouts, private rallies for his cause, and a lot of sneaking around, Kane tries to convince all of Dema that the system is flawed, and that life is better outside the city; in Trench. Ryder, though in disagreement with his movement and his ways, takes an involuntary and unexpected liking to the boy. All the while, Nova Bishop tries his best to foil Kane's plans pacifistically because he doesn't want another Clancy cycle to begin after all this time of peace. Will Kane succeed in his attempts to overthrow Dema's unsound system, or will tragedies befall him?

As the water began to gush through the broken window, Clancy wondered if there was any getting out of this. He flailed about as the water rose, his pink hair stuck to his forehead as he gasped for breath. Clancy could just about see Torch begin to swim for the hole left by the creature, and his own limbs copied each kick and stroke in a desperate attempt to follow.
Clancy tried to ignore the way that his body burned with exertion, or how the reflection of the sun on the surface of the ocean didn’t seem to be getting any closer. His lungs felt like they were on fire, each precious breath of air held inside disappearing by the second.
Torch seemed to be getting further and further away, as if Clancy wasn’t going anywhere despite his best efforts to swim upwards – his outstretched hand seemed to do nothing when no one realised he was falling behind.
or: Clancy almost drowns during the attack on the submarine, and realises that maybe surviving was a good thing after all.

Clancy was stubborn in the heart; someone who acted first with his emotions, making rash and reckless decisions that often landed him in hot water. There was a bite to him, something wild and untamed despite the rigid doctrine he had grown up around.
