Summary
Emily Richmond has a perfect life. An attractive, wealthy husband, a healthy, intelligent teenage son, a nice house in the suburbs, and a quiet, predictable life. Sure, raising a teenager can be difficult. Sure, it’s lonely when Michael has to leave town for business, but Emily knows how lucky she is to have such a privileged life.
Then she and her son are kidnapped and taken to a remote country estate by a man who claims that Michael isn’t as perfect as Emily believes him to be. Ruthless, uncompromising and even cruel at times, Alois Maxwell is no angel either.
