Summary
The items in this collection were recovered in January of 1945, shortly after the deaths of Captain Steven Grant Rogers and Sergeant James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes. The collection was gifted to this museum in 1970 and was first displayed as a tribute in remembrance and commemoration to mark 25 years since Captain America sacrificed his life for the United States. On display in this collection are the belongings of Rogers and Barnes that were left at their campsite following their untimely deaths.
In a museum is a letter that Bucky wrote during the war to an "unknown male lover".
