Morgan Foster’s house rang with silence, still and flooded with light in the way the afternoon could make the world seem a photograph of a memory. Some long-divorced and quietly murmuring instinct recorded the notion for a poem which would never make paper.
The silence would surely kill her.
Glenn lives, returning at the end of the adventure to an empty house and nothing much more.
Meanwhile, Morgan is caught in a miserable state. Jodie and Nicholas have fucked off to Hell of all places, leaving her with nothing but a few forlorn hugs goodbye and promises to visit. And then, she’s getting these dreams about having a kid with her college boyfriend. Which definitely never, ever happened.

“Is Daddy gonna come to my play…?” Nick asked. Morgan sighed, and she didn’t look him in the eye.
“I hope he does, honey, but he has a show tonight…” Morgan said. “When I talked to him this morning, he said he was going to try extra hard to make it home to see your play.”
“I hope he gets to come because I’m gonna be Santa…” Nick said.
“Daddy wants nothing more than to see you be Santa,” Morgan said. She tried to control her anger, remembering every time for the past three months that she told Glenn not to plan a show for the week before Nick got out for winter break. Yes, they needed the money, but damn—Nick needed his dad.

Lark isn’t at school on Tuesday. It’s the first sign somethings off and it goes completely over Nicky’s head at first. Lark’s attendance has never been great, sure Sparrow seems like a nervous wreck but that isn’t too odd for her. Nicky is worried, but not enough to be deeply concerned, since it’s common for him to skip days when he’s too overwhelmed. (Not that he’d admit that as the reason to anyone besides Nicky.) Then suddenly it’s Thursday and there’s no sign of him.

Glenn has been mostly dealing with being dead. It's a pretty sick deal. He doesn't have to maintain things like eating, paying taxes, and the horrible misery that comes with thinking too hard about everything he's lost. He gets claws as built-in guitar picks, he gets to be cooler than before, and he gets some peace and quiet for once. Unfortunately, this doesn't last, and Morgan shows up in Hell. Oh dear.
Glenn is still in love. Head over heels in love. Totally whipped for this woman. He's not very good at hiding it.

Yes, I named Christine 'Christine Hemsworth', and her own mother is named 'Pierce Brosnan'. The first one because its funny, the second because it's also funny and because of Mama Mia.
