Summary
Shiro and Hunk have been dating for a while now, and things have been great between them. Hunk has absolutely no complaints there, and is just happy to have his boyfriend in one piece.
Shiro and Ulaz have likewise been dating for a while, after gentle nudging from Hunk to ensure they knew that he was happy with whatever made Shiro happy.
And for a while, Hunk was happy. Ulaz was at the Blade headquarters, and they were never in the same place, they held very different positions in Shiro's life, and things were perfect.
And then Ulaz was moved to the castleship as a liason.
Hunk still wants what makes Shiro the happiest -- that's always in the front of his mind -- but now he's seen Ulaz, and he doubts that Shiro would still want him.
Ulaz just makes things complicated -- and Hunk goes from not having had Hanahaki in months, to coughing up two different flowers for two different men.

Summary
Less "Hanahaki" and more "mutually-requited pining with flowers thrown in for flavor." The flowers won't kill you, but they aren't a pleasant experience either. Still, maybe some good can come of them in the end.

Hanahaki. A vampire illness where your unrequited feelings of love towards someone eat you up inside until you start coughing up flower petals, and eventually flowers.
Kantarou had seen shows and movies about hanahaki on TV, and always thought it was silly that the person closest to the one suffering from hanahaki didn't confess their feelings immediately. If there was even the slightest chance they could make their loved one's pain end, why wait until the most dramatic time? Just confess, it's that simple!Unfortunately, with Tsujigiri Nagiri and Kei Kantarou, things could never be simple.

(Un)luckily for him, the flowers that have started blooming from his wings whenever he's around Scar are now making the topic sort of impossible to avoid. Maybe if he just hides until whatever magical force that cause the flowers to sprout gives up on him, he'll make it through this whole thing unscathed?

Summary
Grian is a grown adult hermit with a stable adult life and mature adult thoughts. That's why it's more than a little embarrassing when he starts coughing up flowers every time he thinks of his best friend Scar. Everybody knows that Hanahaki disease is a teenage thing, right up there with acne, voice crackles and growth spurts. Fixing it is as easy (or as difficult) as resolving your feelings for your crush, but that usually requires actually talking to that person. Grian is bound and determined to do things the hard way.
(Or, the Hanahaki fic where nobody coughs blood, nobody dies, nobody is compelled to love anybody else, and Grian gets teased by all his friends about his crush.)
