Kyle chooses To help protect Michael, because he finally realized that Alex and Michael are in love and are both in pain, he was guessing it was Alex’s fault. He also knows that Alex doesn’t know the truth, so he was partially doing it for him as well. In a way Kyle Valenti’s trying to push the idiots together.
