Robin stands up, his hands sweating and his heart racing. His gaze never strays from the golden heart dangling from her neck, and shaky fingers grab it with as much delicacy as he can muster. One last glance at her trusting, sleeping face shoots a spike of guilt into his heart, but he braces himself and opens it.
'Click'—it's almost deafening.
There, lying on the cheap locket's velvet interior, is the blurry picture of a total stranger.
