Ruby Rose and Weiss Schnee had never intended to come in contact with alternate versions of themselves from some far-flung future, but it was clear that each had their own share of problems, even before arriving here.
Ruby's Alter smelled of blood, as if she lived in it, and summoned blades to her beck and call. A power that, by all routes of study, Ruby didn't have.
Weiss' Alter was more normal, but withdrawn and filled with a deep need to know "why?", living in an endless now that kept her mind trapped.
Neither was perfect, and neither was truly needed. But when it came to Ruby, who still lacked control of her Semblance after all these years... maybe this could be better than she thought.
Or perhaps, possibly, the weight of her empty dream would crush them both.

In a world where Salem indulges in a little bit of overkill in retaliation for Summer's mission, what was meant to be the eradication of the Huntress' family instead provides her with one of her most effective, if not unwilling, assets in centuries. With enough threats and beating, the once bright eyed young Ruby finds herself being turned into the Grimm Queens new prize assassin. As the years pass, Remnant becomes all too aware of its new Grimm Reaper. A killer who bloodies the ground wherever they go, and who always seems to be getting in the way of Ozpin and his allies. With no way out in sight, Ruby has all but given up hope of her life turning for the better. That is until a horribly botched mission provides her with a chance to find something better. As long as it doesn't get her killed first.
Or, join me as I try and recreate the horrific magic of The Seventh Circle and Guilty Rose in what I hope to be seen as a spiritual successor rather than a cheap copy. We'll rip and tear canon as we please, sail only most crack head of ships, and maybe by the end get to see Ruby be the happy young girl we all know her as.

This fanfiction is set in an alternate universe, 5 years prior to the events of RWBY Volume 1. It will borrow many elements from regular RWBY, but work off of an altered canon for others (such as differences in canon characters and worldbuilding elements like aura). That being said, it is still firmly set within the world of RWBY, so please enjoy!

He found out that the things he do while unseen is seen normal to other eyes like the people around him and someone he is punching will see it as normal and only see the person expression of pain but nothing else. The true potential of "Vanish" will be reached by Jaune soon.

Her last performance will be at the most remote airbase on Mantle, where the rejects of the air force go to either die, leave their mark forever, or both. All seems fine, with Weiss riding in the RIO seat of Pyrrha Nikos, one of the first female fighter pilots out of Atlas' new program, until an incursion of Grimm cuts off the base from Atlas, forcing Weiss to learn to fly with the best or die on the ground.

Meanwhile, Jacques certainly continues to scheme alongside Watts. However, with another partner, the pair become a trio on the path to gaining power.
