He could go without for once. Niki knew that he often came off as a glutton, that he often thought more about food than people, but he couldn’t do that today.
Rinne needed to eat in order to work, which would bring the money in and help them continue to sustain in their little apartment. Niki wasn’t going to turn out like his parents. He wasn’t going to take someone in and prioritize himself over them. He wasn’t going to leave them feeling abandoned, lost and alone in a place that confused them relentlessly.

Niki rambles, not noticing when the kid bent down and put a hand around his ponytail and yanked it. "Ow!"
"Ya talk a lot." the kid comments, smiling like Niki's the most entertaining thing he's seen all day. He probably is considering this kid seems to live in the woods. "You're from the city?"
Niki nods, side eyeing the hand still wrapped around his hair. "Y-yeah. I'm Niki Shiina."
The kid hums, repeating Niki's name a few times before saying "Amagi. Rinne Amagi."
