Despite himself, he had smiled and he had laughed along with her. He could not remember the last time he had truly laughed. He had felt a strange warmth in his chest, a glorious sunbeam he had managed to trap in his fingers that he didn't want to let slip away.

“Wait.”
Dolthedir stopped after only taking a step, Astarion’s weary voice drawing him to an immediate halt.
“Stay.”
Dolthedir stayed. He turned slowly back around to see that Astarion still had yet to move, but those last two words had been unmistakable. Dutifully, he knelt back down by the tub, resting his arms against the lip again. “All right. I’ll stay.”
They were both silent for several long moments, Astarion sitting in the warmed bath and Dolthedir kneeling beside him before Astarion finally moved. He lifted his right hand from the water, the thick coat of blood that had covered it so completely now broken up into thick streaks of dark red. “It isn’t coming off,” he said lamely, lifting his other hand to half-heartedly scrub at the back of his hand. “It’s still there.”
After killing Cazador, Dolthedir (Tav) and the party return to the Elfsong Tavern to clean up and rest. Astarion especially is in need of a bath, and while normally he is more than capable of taking care of himself, the emotions of the day have taken their toll, and so Dolthedir steps in to help him wash.

After a very long trip into the sewers, she was now sitting with her knees drawn to her chest on the bed, her whole posture turned into the wooden wall. She knew that from the outside perspective, she must have looked silly: a grown woman hugging a wooden wall, her face all but smushed into it. But she couldn’t help herself. The sewers were always the worst because they felt so artificial and simply reeked of danger.
She pressed her forehead even closer to the wall. She was almost certain it would leave marks, but she paid it no mind, as she tried to focus on what little was left of the life of the tree trapped in the board. She was curious about what the tree was like, where it lived, because maybe that would help with that anxiousness, and…
“Darling, if you are so touch-starved, you should have said something” she heard a familiar voice near the entrance.
Or. Druid Tav is suffering in Baldur's Gate. Being away from nature makes her miserable and she knows she shouldn't worry her companions about it. But it seems like her vampire companion will not let that slide.

Gale tosses and turns in his tent, eyes squeezed tightly shut, unable to hear the late-night chirping outside his tent as a great ringing fills his head.
He’d been like this for what felt like hours now but was probably only a few minutes. He’d gone to sleep just fine, having been given weave to absorb by Tav (“Just keeping you fed and watered” they had said). It didn’t make sense, then, why he felt like his chest was moments from bursting. That thought makes a jolt of panic run through his mind as he realizes what it might mean.
Perhaps the great orb in his chest had finally grown too hungry. Maybe, despite his best efforts, it could no longer be satiated? The manic thought runs through his head that Tav should’ve kept their magic item, that it was wasted this time.

She screamed again. Pain coursed through her body, making her twist, punching the air out of her. Suddenly she was smaller, more lithe, there was no fur. For one second she could feel herself being in the air, hands flailing uselessly and Gods, she will crack her skull open…
Cold arms caught her before that could happen.Or. Druid Tav has always been affected by nature. When traversing through Shadow Cursed Land, she can feel the full effect the curse has on the nature. That, and she could see the effect she had on her favorite vampire companion.

Told in tandem with the main romance of BG3, Gale and our Bard Tav fall in love amidst the plot of The Absolute. Gale was sure of his place and purpose in the world, had come to accept the smallness of it after his unforgivable mistake. That is, until he meets Tav: a Bard who sees right through him, perhaps for the first time in his life.
Maybe the threads of The Weave conspired to string them together. Even if it didn't, they are now creating their own. Maybe that's what makes them better than the Gods. The Gods have no need for the knowledge of another.
