A mercenary doesn't always know the name of her target. For that much pay, she doesn't care. She knows they fled the Feywild and their contract with kirs Kefred, the Winter Court. She knows they're wandering the Prime Material in stolen armor, and warning the masses about the weakening boundaries between the planes. She knows she's going to kill that coward and make one hell of a profit doing it.
This mercenary doesn't know the names of all of her friends—because what happens in the cellar beneath the queer bar does not leave the ring. There, she is not Suirdhse na Reosbainn, not an eladrin, not a mercenary; there, she is Whisper—and Whisper is a good dog.

Summary
All people and creatures had emotions; it’s a natural born thing. Scientifically natural. If it were ever even doubted to have been true, it would’ve been clear at that moment of their error. There was always joy: darling and light, over perhaps a newborn babe, or a warm meal after fighting through coldness unbearable. There was sadness, who’s draining yet welcoming embrace pained yet also comforted those who felt it.
All emotions and more, absolutely unaccountable in the measures of effect of all thinking and living. Or not all living. Those of descent of cold, freezing and bloodlust felt it too. Emotions enraptured everyone; no matter what the selected one may be. Yet the strongest emotion, one that could drive even the most holiest of men into a spiral of destruction and despair, seemed to be the most powerful of all. And as the pale elf, slowly twiddling his fingers, nails sharpened and fangs taking a rest, it consumed him even then. Hatred. Unrestrained and never ending Hatred.
Hatred for what he was, hatred for his bloodlust, hatred for all things sweet and joyous. Yet above all, one thing that seemed to capture most of the hatred in his head, was not one many would see as a problem.

Summary
This is the story of Corvidae Martya and my DnD-inspired OCs that has been growing for a few months now and is still ongoing. It is a story about doomed love, similar to The Song of Achilles (but darker), about sacrifice, obsession, determination, and devotion to the point of self-destruction. Curumë, my DnD character, is a rogue turned warlock, having doomed his thief gang with his selfish decisions and lost his freedom to his fiendish patron in the process. She holds them hostage until he delivers what she wants — what this is, he doesn't care, for his goal is to free them and himself and destroy his patron no matter the cost.
Vayu, a deeply wounded and traumatized ranger, finds Curumë at his lowest — at the mercy of his patron, wounded and abandoned. It is the start of their love story and the beginning of their doom.
In this timeline, Corvidae and I explore together what would happen if Vayu lost everything he cared about and sees Curumë as his only escape, following him on his inevitable path to darkness. As it is known to both authors — and later to the characters — neither of them will survive, for different reasons each.
This story contains themes of freedom and its meaning, of love, of pain.Series
