Tom finds some old photos while looking for blueprints for a meeting that was taking place regarding a new weapons plan.
The photos were old, from Tord. He reminded of his time as a photographer. Most of the photos were of him. Him with Susan; him laughing, him serene. The second photo had a short inscription on the back. "I like his smile." He felt nauseous, the same nausea he felt every time he thought about Tord and the stupid past and... that days.
Where it was just two guys in their twenties laughing and drinking or smoking together.

Summary
The cheerful tune died on Tom's lips. His grip on the harpoons tightened. More than a decade of living with Edd and Matt had honed his protective instincts to a razor's edge. And it was simple. Nobody messed with his friends or his space. At least not on his watch.
He dropped half the harpoons with a deliberate clatter and swung one up in a single fluid motion, leveling the sharp point at the intruder's back. Behind him, he sensed Edd stepping into the hallway.
"Who goes there?" Tom barked, his voice sharp and flat, being edged with warning. The metal point gleamed in the dim light, inches from the stranger's spine.
The figure froze for a moment.
Then, slowly, almost theatrically, the person's back straightened, and they turned around to face Tom.
The hallway light caught his face, and Tom's entire world tilted sideways.

Tord opened his eyes proving him right, silver eyes meeting his.
"No, do you need any help with your homework?" he asked matching the quiet tone, either mocking him or not wanting to break the peaceful atmosphere. His efforts going in vain as that's exactly what Tom was about to do.
"Nah, just can't focus. I've been thinking about some stuff.'' He hesitated, ''I need to ask you something."
"Sure, go ahead''

Tord travels back in time and gets to experience his childhood, this time with new eyes.
Mostly interactions between Tom and Tord and them caring for each other in their own special way. Could be read romantically, but in my eyes, it's more of an older & younger sibling dynamic.
(Also a lot of it is just Tord having a really bad time. Time travel can really mess you up if you have a traumatic past and future.)
(Edit: it's mostly Tord having a bad time but there's plot now)
